But according to people in the comments there are only a few items on sale and the jacket is not one of them

Like all of us we want them to succeed but they continue to make the worst decisions...the marketing on this sale is horrible. 4 items on sale (inconsistent message from banner above to website), gave them bebefit of doubt as sometimes when added to cart it then shows discount but didnt, none of which is pictured and prices across the board are crazy high. Great job Lotus!

*It appears they have now updated their site to have the originals section on sale. To see sale you must click yellow originals button on right side. The sale callouts/navigation is off.

I like how the $1,300 jackets shown in the advertisement aren't even part of the sale.

Come on guys your just reading 50% off, re-read......it says 50% off the Originals range its does not say ALL the range or Heritage or Performance so the Advert is correct

+1 Also, Lotus Originals is under new management and currently LCU is trying to work out a deal with them so that Lotus dealers can become actual Lotus Original dealers without the hefty requirements as they stand now.

True, but it is still misleading to feature the jackets in the advertisement.

Actually I was not responding to that...and that was my expectation as you stated although I do stand by the prices being high but that's a make or break for them to figure out.

Unfortunately, they have their categories or way finding jumbled up. You click the link from the post and it takes you to a landing page with 4 sale products shown. It’s not really the originals collection. The main feature that contains links (looks like the sale picture) goes to the Heritage collection (should be originals landing page). If you click the red horizontal sale banner it takes you the “men's range” which makes it look like only a few items are on sale, so it appears to be a very select number of products since it makes up all categories. That red banner should go to the originals section. Also, if you click the yellow originals button off the landing page it takes you to the sale.

It’s a disconnect from what your expectations are setup for upfront with the photo, links, etc.

lotus originals is ultra amusing.

$76 for a t-shirt that says "lotus" on it.
$108 for an unbranded white polo.
$208 for unbranded tan trousers.
$810 for an unbranded "zero seams" coat.

all without a designer attached?! and it's not a joke? i'd half expect dany bahar to be the UPS delivery guy and jump out to put a "you're a tool" pin on me if i bought something from lotus originals.

when i pay $100 for a shirt, it's because it's quality and designed by a recognizable name that's not only fashionable, but also stands behind the product. lotus originals has absolutely no credibility in either field. and i'm not complaining about the price because if it was something i wanted, i'd pay it.

now, regarding the prices. the leather jacket is very pretty, i grant you. would i pay $1373+shipping for it? lol. i can walk into dior, dolce, or gucci and have my pick of garment for $1400. putting lotus originals on that level is insulting.

That T shirt is now $31 with the VAT removed but just wait till you calculate freight which will add another $30 to the total.

Well, I agree about the high pricing but I guess it was / is all about the re-branding DB put in place the previous Black and yellow heavy duty track Jacket was around £80 about $128 in todays money was good value a warm jacket robust jacket you could stay out in the cold and still be warm.

I actually JUST received one of their Classic T-Shirt's (dark blue) from my Aunt in England for Christmas. Wearing it now.
1) It's a nicer heavier cotton shirt. Somewhere along the lines of a 6.1oz Haynes ringspun t-shirt.
2) The Lotus logo is about 1" very well stitched
3) It's serialized... 11450
4) It's made in Turkey. Just like a lot of retailers (Armani, Polo, Banana Republic, etc...)

It's not worth 70.

If I was in England I would pay 30 for it. Hell, even the shirts sold at concerts don't go for $70USD. The biggest price-gouging-licensing-gonna-take-all-yo-money group out there (NFL) keeps most of their shirts at or under $30. Really, the most I'd pay normally for a stitched logo tee would be $25. If it was something I really wanted, then I would go up to $45 (nice logo, on travel, in their flag store, etc...).

Also the F1 team stuff if more reasonable, team fleece is about $166 and looks really nice.

end of season sale. All the designers and retailers had/are having their big sales at this time.

The lotus F1 team fleece is VERY nice. High quality, warm, and looks nice. I'm no model, so don't ask for photos

Alas for me, I way overpaid for it at the race in TX last month...
