Lotus ownership satisfaction poll
Alrighty,
Time to quantify all the collective love and despair for this little bundle of joy. Just how much do you like it? Any regrets? Would you rather be driving a Cayman S or an SAV (Suburban Assault Vehicle)? This is a public service poll for Lotus' benefit... ![]() Not really, but you get the point...

I am hardly qualified to answer...but oh well!
After one day of ownership I am loving it. Hopefully that will continue to be true in the coming years.

I had alot of experience with Porsches. Great cars.
But I never considered myself a Porsche guy. It is still early, but after 7 months and a half dozen track days I think I am a Lotus man forever! ![]()

Are you kidding? What if the Lotus Elise had been dangled in front of our eyes here in the States and never came here? What if we saw it at the car show and knew we couldn't buy it? We'd have freaked out! What's the alternative? BWM's? Porsches? Everybody's got those...
Yeah. It's a ten alright. ![]()

I waivered between 9 and 10. This is my first Lotus. I find myself enraptured by the concept of performance through lightweight/simplicity. I'll have a hard time ever buying a sports car that doesn't fit that category going forward. That said, it might not be a Lotus, especially if Lotus loses its way and produces a dog. There are other manufacturers that build similar similar beasts, although most of them are even less available to the common man.

I gave it a 10. I waited 40 years for a car like this; light, agile, and fast. I've never had a problem with it and will NEVER sell it. I wouldn't trade it for an Enzo if I had to drive it and never drive an Elise again. YUP, I'M HOOKED!!

I gave it a 9. Life is too short to love only one car, even a Lotus.
For me, the Elise is the ultimate car, but I also have an Audi TT and by most standards that average drivers care about, the TT is the superior car. I'd never purchase a Corvette, and I could never afford a Porshe GT3, but I can see why owners of those cars think theirs is more perfect than the Lotus. But like the other lunatics on this forum, I prize the rawness, irritations and discomforts of the Elise. |
