That is going to be one seriously sick looking car once you are done with everything on the "upcoming" list lol. Are you keeping the Denag side skirts carbon or painting them? It's gonna look awesome either way -

thanks.
Not sure. If I do paint them, it will be one thin coat of graphite. I sort of like the uniform color on the S, but with the thin coat of paint it won't be too gray and you'll still be able to see the carbon weave underneath. I'll start out leaving it unpainted and see how it looks.

I tend to agree with PhylpSide --> you're being quite modest. I've seen your threads and if your car isn't modded, I'm not sure whose is. Like Kaz's car, your mods are pretty damn serious and significant. Anyway, you're doing things with it that it's meant for - more than quite a few people here have ventured (me included)!

My car and Rachel's car are not even in the same universe lol. Hers is a pure race car through and through with zero bullsh*t and 100% awesome-ness. It's got a full 6 point SCCA rollcage and all the bits of kit for SCCA race prepped cars. Most important it's got two crazy drivers who are doing what can only be described as pure happy insanity as they race through unknown roads - very cool. Rachel is right, her car really isn't modded, it was converted from a street car to a race car with the battle wounds to prove it. My car on the other hand is a pure sissy comparatively speaking lol. Fancy paint, polished shift knob...it's a cool car but it ain't no race car

Hah. Jack's cup cars are the real race cars. I have not put in the emergency stuff yet, like the outside kill switch and the fire suppression system which really has been on my list of things to do. I am halfway between giving up and buying a cup car but I just have no idea what I would do with my elise.

I already bought a new grocery getter. It has a lot more trunk space.

Not a big fan of mods, myself. For me the Elise was way beyond my capabilities in stock form - even with the "Touring wheels" (come and get me, Tim ).

I agree that you'll never get your dough back out of the mods, and they'll probably hurt resale if you sell/trade. As a youth, turning nice reliable cars into cranky unreliable junk has taught me a lesson.

Not meant as a criticism of those who like mods...

I swapped my exhaust and intake at around 500 miles- I have dual muffler Arqray and Fujita intake- I good exhaust note is a must for me- I recently installed Infinity speakers, a harness bar and harnesses, and I convinced my wife we need sport seats- That's next-

Yah Kaz, the black car has a much bigger trunk. I always use the storage space behind the seats though since the trunk is full of all the stuff that came with the car that I'm too lazy to take out. :P

+1 on the car being beyond my capabilities, so just minor mods for me. Stage II (now Janspeed version), driving lights, micromirror, sport package, ht, and will buy SS and bootie soon. Other than that, I'm fine.

Car crazy.

We have a new car for 5 minutes and we want to customize it.

I got a new Stage 2 exhaust before it left South Bay Lotus.

I went there and asked if they have a wing for my Elise to make it look like the P.I.M.P. Exige, and the guy at the counter looked out the window and laughed at my car.

"That isn't a real car, that is a kit car. You should have gotten an Exige S," said the young lad of 17.
