My custom steering wheel and shift boots

So I had my steering wheel re-wrapped in alcantara with orange stitching. I had Redline goods do it. (I had gotten alcantara shift and e-brake boots from them and decided to have them do my steering wheel to match.) I love it, it came out great!

Here are my matching ebrake and shifter boots in alcantara with orange stitching from them as well:

If anyone is curious its redlinegoods.com

It's pretty much the same thickness as the oem leather

Since they had to use mine to make the template, I actually had to send 'em the wheel and it was a little longer than a month. But since they now have the template, you can just order the wrap without sending your wheel in.

I believe the new covers cost $129 depends on what options you choose. Real alcantara is a little extra. They even have diy's on their site for installing the new steering wheel cover because they are pre-threaded.

Looks great, I like the non-slip feel of Alcantra.

My custom steering wheel

For one, is it alcantara or micro suede? Also is it automotive grade? This means does it have uv protectant? I am very worried for those who would install themselves.... Does that mean you would cut off your old leather?

Yes, I love the feel of it. I have always wanted an alcantara steering wheel.

They are BIG around the internet. Just search the name in google and they are talked about all over the forums with tons of good reviews. They were great to work with and all three of my pieces are great quality. I'm tempted to send 'em my tear drops in the door panels. They are out of Poland though, so shipping can take a week to 2 weeks but its worth it.

Real alcantara. I paid extra for it.

Yes, you cut off the old leather.

Here is step 2 of their DIY video:

It looks like these guys really are all that. Here's a link to their Lotus shifter/e-brake stuff: Lotus Elise 2005-13 shift boot - RedlineGoods leather shift boot store

Click some of the custom options links and you'll see how flexible they are.

It is a good price but most of the price in wrapping a wheel is based on the amount of time it takes to do one.....Can I ask how much they charge to wrap the wheel instead of DIY?
