My perfect Lotus – Exilise

I've kept all the best parts of the Elise and all the best parts of the Exige. Put them all together to create "my perfect Lotus". There was a poll just recently about which which looked better between the Elise or the Exige. Here's my response:

I like the back of the Elise. A much sexier line in my opinion to the hump of the Exige. I've never liked the Side scoop pod of the Exige at all. It's never felt well integrated into the design of the car. And has always appeared to be stuck on as an after thought breaking the flow of the car.

Hmmm I wonder what this car would look like? ....
Well thanks to the magic of Specialty Car Craft, I now have the perfect car. I picked my baby up last night and I have to dash out for the rest of the day, so no pictures yet. I'm so excited that I had to share the good news.

I love it! I would really like to do the same thing. I'd also like to see what it looks like with the mesh over the side scoops instead of the strakes.

Actually it is spelled Exise
The car looks great. I may be following your path. Does the Exige front end weigh less or more than the Elise's. I also think that the new Elise Type 72D rear spoiler would look great on the car as well. Sort of beef up the rear to match the front spoiler.
Add the rear wheel arch extenders, and spacers and voila...Serious beefage....

Thanks guys.

I really love the new (not as new now) look of my car (in the pics darksol posted.) The exige clam is heavier, not much, but some.

Looking forward to seeing another one

Best,

Phil

Conan - there are at least 3 threads, including sands museum, about replacing strakes w/mesh here. Plenty of pix.

I'm in process. Had the seam filled on the Elise frt clam, did the frt 3 grills w/mesh. About to attack the sides.

I am surprised that you don't like the bubble styled side vent covers of the Exige. It is one of my favorite things abou the style change between the two.

The combo of parts does look great though.

I am surprised people don't like the engine cover...That's got to be my favorite part of the Exige, next being the mesh.

congrats on getting the car back Jacob. I agree with you in that I've always loved the Exige front along with the Elise rear. Now post pics dammit!

Thanks Robert! Although, I have to say there were practically tears in my eyes as Jacob and I stood there watching the detail late last night. The car absolutely came to life! I'm really proud of the job we all did. Jacob was part of the team on this one. Color selection alone took a couple of weeks. Our painter - who's a bit of a genius - made countless samples, and variations on samples until Jacob and team were happy. In a word, the car looks simply...elegant. There's really nothing else quite like it. Standing there ogling it, we realized that the three custom color cars we know of - mine, Kaz's, and Jacob's, all have three distinct personalties. Mine is stealthy and a bit evil looking, Kaz's looks racy and very military, and Jacob's looks like it's headed for a black tie function on Friday night, then waking up early for the track or auto-x the next morning.

I'm super happy for Jacob, and really proud of the team at SCC, especially Steve (the owner) who is a real visionary and cares about our cars. He's not only willing to experiment and put it on the line, but eager. The rear fill on the taillight section is a work of art, as is the mesh work, all cut and formed from Exige OEM mesh. The paint was a three stage job.

Of course, TTIWWP, but I have it on good word they're coming.
