Possum hunting....with a Lotus

Nailed my first Possom tonight coming home in the Elise. Miraculously....no damage!

It was a young one, and now that I think about it, the edge of the clam probably clipped him as he rolled under. I felt a significant "thud" and was sure I cracked something, but upon pulling into the driveway and going over the front clam inch by inch......nothing.

After all the horror stories I've read, I was sure I had cracked it.

I think what saved me was that I didn't slow down. I was coming around a long sweeping turn, so I didn't want to lift off the gas. If I had braked, I'm pretty sure the nose would have dropped a bit and probably would have caused more damage. I was definately lucky...

On my maiden voyage with my Elise, driving back from Houston after purchasing, I hit and armadillo , luckily I hit him towards the side of the car, not straight on. The end result was just some light scuffs in the starshield. That could have been very very bad.

I've tagged a raccoon. he took out the grille, cracked the center of the license plate plinth.
next a deer. i stopped just about a foot later than the deer's legs.
the deer fell on the forward part of the clam, got up and walked away.
this time it was the grille and the radiator as well as a few more cracks in the clam.
since the driving lights came with a grille, i took the opportunity to install them.
nothin like living in the country...

Got me a possum in my DD. Dumbest animals on earth, he would have made it if he didn't stop to check out my headlights.
