Driver door panel squeaks when I go over bumps. My dash use to squeak very bad but my dealer pulled it, insulated it, and the problem went away.

Windows use to leak too, they adjusted the height and that was fixed too.

With the scream of the supercharger through the CAI and the howl of the stage 2 exhaust there are no other noises

the stock sound system produces the most "unwanted noise"

the left dash vent panel rattle is gone after the dealer put some expanding foam in there.

the worst unwanted noise is the road noise from the worn A048's. i got the Bridgestone RE-01R's and now i can hear my stock exhaust

Found an extra bolt for the seat track under the passenger seat. I looked there about a month ago when I started to hear a rattling noise but couldn't see anything. It must have been stuck behind the seat and worked its way forward after 4 years.

Maybe I should take the seat out and see if anything else is stuck behind it. We should have the Lotus employees from the factory post a Lost and Found log. This way we can see if the unexplained rattles are coming from lost car keys, missing change, or other items that they cant find at the end of their shifts.

I found a small screwdriver under the seat of one of my other cars once. Guess it must have fallen out of someones pocket when they were making the car!

unwanted noises and squeaks....my right knee makes a funny snap when i stand up....it's my back that squeaks....

seriously, if we saved all the loose hardware we find in our cars, could we assemble another car, in time?

things haven't changed much, in the fifties, at a ford dealer, i would find at least a handful of hardware under the mats, in the trunk, etc.
it didn't take long to fill a coffee can.

Talking about things falling off, I had a interesting experience. I was getting out of the car and heard something metallic fall to the ground. Not being sure what had happened, with dread I looked around, and found under the car the bezel that goes around the key opening on the door look. Another Lotus moment I thought

For any rattles associated with body work... one thing to consider is taking it to a body shop with lots of lotus experience as they very likely have more experience installing, removing, and adjusting body work and anything that could be touched during body work, which is a lot on these cars. I had my front clam replaced at Chilton Autobody in San Carlos a long while back and they fixed a really annoying rattle in my passenger door that the dealer couldn't fix. (they did it for free while fixing the clam since it wasn't part of the repair... i think a body shop will see a good vested interest in helping out loti owners because chances are they'll be back if they have the car long enough...)
