QBaLL ELISE ON EBAY

Hi everyone I opened this account here because I had read about the story on m3Forum.com a few months back
Well a friend of mine is looking for a Elise, I came across QBall car on ebay and the owner claims it has a clean title. Unreal

Here is the link

I hope the bidders know this car is only good for a parts car.

I just asked the seller if he's sure that the car has a clean title. I mentioned that it looks a lot like a car that was droped off a lift and totaled by the original owner. I'm interested to see the response. Thinking about reporting it to ebay, the bidding is up to $30,000.00 which is close to what an undamged car should go for.

Vehicle Description from the seller:

This Car has only 3900 miles on it. It has minor damage from a auto repair shop. Mostly fiberglass repair. But the TITLE IS CLEAN. Look close at the pics. It has 3900 miles on it now but might have a few more on it due to the fact that we are selling locally and people will want a test ride. This little guy is very fast. don't let the 4cyl. fool you. It's a rocket.

RED FLAG

I would hope he means to say title is 'clear' (of liens) and not 'clean' (from damage/salvage/etc)...but who knows. Wonder if it will ever show on a Carfax?

Even if the bidders owned a fiberglass repair and paint facility, over $30,000 seems way too steep for a car in this condition. Let the buyer beware.

I just reported it a possibly fraudulent listing to ebay. Save someone from buying this mis-represented vehicle and do the same. There's a link at the bottom of the listing to report the item only takes a minute.

I guess this is why it's so important to do research before buying. The Elise is definately one of those items that can fool uneducated people into thinking they're getting a good deal when they're really getting a disaster. Most cars with that sort of damage would be a relatively easy fix. The Elise ain't most cars. But we all know that dont we.

qball should be able to tell if that's his old car.
I was trying to find pics of his old car - especially the way the rear diffuser was bent, but could not find the old ones. It sure looks like it though.

How long does it take for a salvage to show up on a carfax? They are probably trying to unload it before it shows up.

Those have to be shill bids ... no one in their right mind would bid on a car like this, even for $30K, with the kind of damage I see in those pictures

Yes.. that's my car...

The purchase could be somebody from E-talk. I did receive about 7 inquiries from E-talkers asking for info on purchasing the vehicle. I forwarded those leads to the insurance company.

I'm not sure what Goodyear did with the title in regards to salvage, etc. All I did was simply sign it over to them.

Good luck to the buyer. If properly repaired, it is a nice car. It ran great with the Stage II and ITG intake.

I joined in the reporting. Is it wrong to email the current high bidder with the info?

Not at all, I just couldn't figure out how to do it? I have no problem with letting someone know that they're about to get screwed by a less than fourthcoming seller. I'm curious to see if ebay does anything with the reports we've all placed, if they don't that's pretty scary. as others have said, buyer beware.
