Derek's a busy guy - Dentist PLUS aftermarket parts fabricator... if you're lucky enough to get a set though, his work is truly top notch (as shown).
He should up the price though He's basically giving them away when you consider his "other" hourly rate. ![]() |

I think this shot highlights an important thing one should note about installing these... there's an uncut triangle that will be visible in the body color from the side as it extends back under the vent (seen here). This wasn't visible before as the fins covered everything, but now with visibility into the side/rear interior improved, this will be seen - and doesn't look remarkably attractive.
For lighter color cars, I'd recommend painting that segment with a flat black or something while the side vents are off... it would never be seen even if reverting to stock fins, so there's no downside to it. Next time I take my wheels back off to clean em, those guys are getting painted! Additionally, the foam blocks (side impact protection?) inside and under the vents will be visible through the mesh. If yours were like mine and dusty, they'll be VERY visible (light gray stands out in a black hole)... a quick wipe down with armorall on a rag will make it disappear again! Just things I found along the way... P.S. - This is really a great shot... I'm usually not impressed by ones on here... ![]() |

I am thinking about trying to do it myself since I am sure he is very busy. My only concern is I have never worked with fiberglass before and I believe he said he used it to smooth out the surface. Hmmm well see if I have the patience and the coorage to try this myself.
