Start problem when cold
Every since I bought my 2005 Elise it often takes quite a while to start the engine when it has been sitting for a few days. It takes about 2-3 seconds of the starting turning over before it fires up. Once it is warm it doesn't have this problem. I haven't noticed any other problems with the engine except this.
Does anyone else have this problem or have heard of a similar issue? Thanks, Chris |

turn the key to "on" and let the fuel pump pressurize the system, then try to start it. If this makes a diff, it could be normal or you may have a faulty "check" valve (I can't remember the correct name) the lets the pressure dwindle.
This may be in the Owner's Manual.

My car does this too. If it isnt started for a few days it hesitates to starts. Have other people experienced this? I will try the method of turning the key and letting it sit for a few seconds first. Ill report back.
