Hey phil,

What's your long term plans here? I'd love to have a tilting clam--next year. I just picked up my car start of this year, I'll probably hold off on major modifications until next year.

Do you think you'll still be making kits then?

My plans are to make the kit as long as people want them. So if people are still interested in the kit when you are, I'll still have them available

So I did inventory tonight...

I've got enough for 3 kits left!

One is spoken for. I didn't forget about ya Darksol!

So There are 2 kits left! Then I'm out of complete kits until I make more good parts... which will be a while. So if anyone wants a kit and does not have the stock exhaust, let me know...

Best,

Phil

PS- My car still has the original R&D parts on it. The parts that are shipped look a good bit prettier than the ones on my car...

Phil, you should update all the info on the first thread.. Finding patches of information through 300+posts isn't fun

+1, I would be interested....didnt read the whole thread...but wondering:
does it work on Exige S?
anything special to install or straight forward?
do you loose any functionality of anything?

It's still the "beta" version, so I have no idea what really needs to be played with to get it to fit a S. I know that it's been installed on a couple Elises now with minimal challenges- just some amendments to the instructions for the most part...

LordZ is fitting one to his Exige, but I think he has to wait for his exhaust system to come in to dig as we learned that it will not fit the stock 55 gallon drum of an exhaust system. I've drawn up a revision to the rear panel that *might* allow for fitment of the stock can, but not positive. In anycase, it will be a while before that part is produced...

So if you want to test the S, you're welcome to. Just know that you may have to "fettle" some bits here an there and get creative with some Exige specific bits.

Best,

Phil

Got my package today ( tilting clam kit ).

Saturday delivery from Fed Ex. Didn't know they worked on Saturdays.

Nice collection of goodies in the box. Stamped aluminum, powder coated stuff,

fancy looking hinges. Looks great so far. Going to install it next weekend.

Last weekend would have been much better. Struggle with belt removal, pulley removal, pulley install, belt install, exhaust removal, header install.

I wish a had a tilt last week. Never would have broken a sweat.

I have just decided to take off work tomorrow and install my tilt.

I was going to do the install this weekend but ......

I have a new SC pulley and a belt to install. I don't want to fight with limited space.

Phil .... You should start a new "for sale" thread for this item.

Get all the info in first post. Just saying.

Warranties?

Hi TurboPhil. Congrat's on a great idea brilliantly executed!

One question and I have not seen it asked anywhere...

Does the tilting clam void any warranties?

The tilt install is done. What a marvelous product.

A must have for anyone who works on their own car. Tilt the clam and you get easy access to everything, headers, belt, airbox, etc.

Thanks Phil !!!!

Nice! How long was the install? Had you removed the clam before?

It took about 8 hrs. I worked on some other stuff at the same time. Fixed up
some wiring etc. I had the clam off before.

The hardest part is getting the seats removed and installed. I hate messing with those damn seats.

Seriously though, just drop me a line. We just took a couple odds and ends to p-coat and will be able to make one more Beta kit and still leave one for Darksol... and then we go dark for a while and start working on other stuff and make some very minor revisions to the kit to fit a wider range of exhausts. It will be a while before we crank out another batch...not sure how long a while is, but it won't be next week for an example....

Best,

Phil

Same here. If you have taken the seats out you've done the hardest part!

Matt- It can only impact the warranty if the stealership can prove that the hinge system caused whatever problem you're there for...

Jim, GREAT NEWS. I'm super happy that you're finding the kit as much fun as I am. Thanks for the feedback and I'm truly proud that it's working out for you!

Best,

Phil
