Time to tilt < lap time

Thanks again Phil!
Hey LordZ, that time to tilt the clam is faster than your last lap time at MSR.

Hey Phil or LordZ, Will the mod work with stock through the diffuser exhaust? I'd like to do the mod, but I am not keen on replacing the Tubular exhaust that is currently on the car.

I'm cool with a panel delete. May be I'll figure out someway to use Dzus fasteners to hold the rear panels on and yet allow easy removal.

LordZ next time you plan on tilting your clam give me a call, I'd really like to see how it all works.

Works fine with the through diffuser exhausts. I've sold a few that have the diffuser exits and no problems...

Best,

Phil

Cool

Thanks for the response Phil.

Can you add me to your list for your next run on the kit.

May be if I'm really nice to LordZ he'll provide me with some help / advice on the install process.

Any word on quick release hard-top? Those of us who run with the hardtop need it before we get the tilting clam.

Little back logged right now on the creative idea front

I'd like to work on that but as it stands, outside of normal stuff we make, I'm sitting on a back log of clamhinges to get out, trailer hitches, camera mounts (granted these are not that creative), and intercooler... oh ya, and two frame off restorations...

Perhaps if I can get the trailer hitches and intercooler off my plate, I can move on to the quick release hard top. I have put some thought in to the hard top and I can see a way to make it quicker, in the four corners but I don't see an efficent way to get around that interior trim panel on the front... Best case will probably be to make it so that there are no tools required for the trim panel and quick connects on the 4 corners... Jsut thinking outloud here

Best,

Phil

I don't need no stinking interior trim panel Phil.

Any way of making the back snug down a bit more though? I'm putting small pieces of rubber in my rear brackets right now to bring the back down a bit more (06, no center securing bracket + S111 CF roof. )

Is there a way? You bet! Where there's a will, there's always a way

I have the same problem on my '05 car. As you guys have probably come to figure out, I tend to get creative and make stuff when I need to. I tilt my clam so much (several times a week), that I'm going to "need" to get creative with the hard top as winter comes since that's when I run the hard top.

In the meantime, the soft top is the top of choice, so no quick release hard top for you! (in my best "Soup Nazi" Voice)

Best,

Phil

Hello everybody !

Finaly, i've make the same original transformation like Phil , on my Speedster GULF... but with my own system (two pieces of the "Spider Renault" french car....) because the rear of the VX220 / Speedster GM are not exactly the same to your Elise/Exige cars .

In few hours, i send you my picture about the strange rear "mutation" of my car in my Garage111.com post !

Best regards

Franck / Valmont

Franck, I'm sorry, I will not be able to help you...
For "la fête du travail" (same thing in US, labor day) I promised my wife and family to enjoy holiday without anything about Lotus, or clamhinge... cause...she will have headaches...You know what I mean...

A+ Jean

Well I don't know what Jim did different on mine (I did show him pics of the tilting clam and how it didn't fit) but mine fits perfect without any hacking involved.

Hey Phil,

As I just bought a Supercharger from BWR. This would be a winter project and as some of you may know, winter in Quebec is a long winter... The Clamhinge installation would be a nice complement to the installation of the Supercharger.

Question:
1. No ratling?
2. Where are the bolts and or fastener holding the clam down?
3. When is your next production (black)?

Regard

Serge

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delay. Jim is right, it is quite possibly, the best thing ever

As soon as we can get my busines partner back from his nuptials, I won't be manning the ship by myself. I anticipate that we'll be done with the next batch at the end of October, as he will be back the second week of October and this project is the first on our list to finish. Fortunately, we're very close to completion as it is, so it won't be long after he gets back.

If you're interesting in the kit feel free to post in this thread so I can better keep track of who's-who....I'll eventually open the cart up on the website for purchases when they're done...

Hang in there guys

Best,

Phil
