Tuna Cyn run yesterday - LotusTalk

Went to Tuna Canyon in Malibu yesterday with 451(Rich) to test out my new Sony Actioncam and his Gopro 3. Did 2 runs down, first run was pretty close and we still caught up to a Jeep that started heading down probably 5 min ahead of us.

Here's mine, it's a mash up of Tuna and a run I've dubbed "Monaco". It has nothing to do with the real Monaco, just a stupid nickname I gave it.

You should only do this if its a close road and professional drivers.

Now that the Political Correctness BS is out of the way...

Looks like a fun drive with a fun car! I am jealous!

I may have some similar video of some of us driving down Pikes Peak! Was one of the best drives I have done!

I'm no expert, but video quality seems to be great for both cameras, I can't tell which one is better. I really liked the behind the wheel angle, very cool.

Looks like I missed out on a lot of fun!

Make sure to run them in HD (720P) if possible

Tuna is my favorite road.

One time we came across a group in a Honda minivan here for a wedding and they took the road behind us. When they finally made it, they had to let the car sit as the brakes were shot. Ticking sounds and smoking.

Lotus is perfect car for this road!

It's one-way street so no worries about any traffic really. Rarely have I seen any car on that road.

I've driven it faster than that, but only after many trips down and gotten comfortable enough. It's a dangerous road no matter how many times you've been on it. When you're ripping down Tuna, fully focused, it feels like a roller coaster and like all coasters, the ride is short. To get back and do another run unfortunately takes a while as it is a one-way street.

I got a proper phone that records 1080p, maybe i take a vid too.

Never really made a clip of a canyon run before.

The mount on the sony cam looks pretty flimsy.

was just about to ask... if it was the mount or the cam itself.
