Las night coming out of Starbucks, while walking across the parking lot to our car, we saw two cars pull out of their parking spaces right by the door to the Barens & Noble its attached to and drove over parking near the Exige. A girl (20's?) got out of one and was standing there with her cell phone trying to get a picture of it. My wife and I just sorta slowed downed but as we got closer the girl turned and goes
"oh please don't tell me this isn't your car?!"
me: "yep"
girl: "I'm so sorry, its just like my favorite car in the world... (trainling off looking at the phone screen)"
me: "no, really, its fine take your time"
girl: "I just wanted to get a picture and I look like and idiot don't I... (again trailing off)"
my wife: "not at all! happens all the time!"

I half expected my wife to say "he does the same thing constantly!" So, after she was done she got back in her car and the two vehicles just sat there, I guess waiting for me to start the engine. As we're getting in the car I was thinking to my self... oh the irony. She thought she looked like an idiot but I'm the one that just fell, not so gracfully holding my coffee, into my car seat with 8 people watching me!

Granted, its not the funniest thing ever, but I enjoy moments like that. I really need to start thinking when I catch people doing that and let them climb in and poke around the cabin for a minute or two. For some reason, it just doesn't come to mind until its too late.

I was getting gas last night. Some kid in a Mustang pulled up, got out, and asked me if he could drive my car.

i get asked questions about my m6 sometimes, most people just stare. I dont mind answering questions and people wanting to take picture at all if i'm not in a hurry.

If i'm really in a hurry and i tell them, "sorry, i have to go..i'm really busy"....they look at me like "what a bastard cant even answer some questions about the car".... people...

Interesting, must be the badge. Take it off and people usually don't even notice a 6 series. Just another big rich person BMW. I noticed people were always asking questions about my M3 although it looked basically like a regular 3 series.

Not so much a comment, but on the way to work this morning, there was an accident on the exit ramp to where I get off I-95. this kid left the cop, and all the people, walked about 3 carlengths away from all of them past the last cop car, took out his disposable camera and took a photo of my Lotus as I drove by.

Weird...

In the month or so I've had it:

A lot of "How much does it cost", size comments and a whole bunch of positive comments.

I was at the oceanfront in Virginia Beach right after picking up the car. As me and my buddy were getting out I hear some guy walking by with some friends say "Yo man, that's a slowtus." I ignored him and just thought to myself "Whatever makes you feel better." Didn't want to get into it because we were meeting girls there.

On my way up to NY in NJ I stopped for gas. The attendant goes to fill it up and as I'm heading inside he says "Hey man! Where the keys?!" I hold them up. "Can I have 'em? Let me take it for a spin around the parking lot!"

My roommate was helping me put the car cover on and said something about the attention it gets.
Me: I really don't like all the attention it gets.
Him: What do you mean, that's what this car's about!
Me: ...No this is a driver's car. This car is about driving.

It is illegal to pump your own gas in NJ. You HAVE to let the attendent do it.

Picking up a date from her apartment in DC:

So her apt building (called The Elise, haha) is connected to the Double Tree Hotel. There was no parking along the street, so I parked in the "unloading area" of the DoubleTree....you know, the spot where limos/guests pull up out front of the hotel. Well the security guard came out and was like, "Are you a guest? You can't park here!" Then the manager comes out and says, "Of course this guy can park here. He can park where ever he wants! Take your time."

I was outside a bar with some friends on the balcony over looking my precious baby. Two couples walk out of the bar. They apparently say something about the Lotus. One couple walks away, I see the guy from the second couple take out a phone as his girlfriend walks over to my car. My friends say to me, there she goes, checking out your ride man. I'm thinking, meh.

Then, I couldn't believe it actually happened. The girl walks over and plops her ass right on the front end of my car while her boyfriend attempts to take a picture. Before any thoughts enter my head I've already yelled out the words, "WOH, GET OFF MY F'ing CAR!"

She looks up, sees me and goes, "yeah, you wish that's your car".
I click on my alarm and my friends scream some curses at her. .
Her boyfriends hurries away while some not so pleasant words were exchanged between the girl and I.

Honestly, I don't mind people checking out the car, but don't touch it, have a little respect for other people's property.
