I'm not worried. Apparently there is no requirement for such statements to have any real merit.

Was his name GTsRasta by chance?

Oh d@mn. Next time just say:

Celica? Sweet, my little sister has one of those she says the FWD handling is the best for understeering comfort! You know, I heard they used to make a men's version of the Celica too, the biggest difference was that it was RWD.

Oh yeah, so does your little sister know you're out bragging about the "potential" of her car? It's the pink one with Hello Kitty stickers and Ronal Teddy Bear wheels on it over there, right?

On a trip last week, buddy and I stopped at Wendy's to get some cheap food.

We each ordered chicken nuggets, one BBQ and one Honey Mustard sauce. On the review order screen it says two honey mustards so

Me: Can you make sure one of those is a BBQ Sauce?
Drive-thru Girl: Man I got it, jeeze, I heard you okay!
Me: Okay thanks

So I pull around and up the the window. The girl is super cute, I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head

DTG: OH MY GOD, I'm SO sorry I didn't know you would be driving THAT. What is that!? Oh man it's so pretty HEY LINDA COME OVER HERE
Linda (huuuge store manager with gold teeth): Dauyum, what is that?
Me: It's a Lotus
Linda: Who makes it?
Me: Lotus (big grin)
Linda: Yeah but I mean is it like a Ford or something?
Me:

The DTG Girl was really funny and even gave us extra sauce. I'd hate to think how she would have reacted if I had driven up in a big truck or some normal car!

Me: Can I have a raise?
Boss: To pay for your car?

He was referring to my BMW, but I'm sure I would get the same response, if not worse, with a Lotus.

The day after I set up the deal for my Elise, my boss came to the client I was at and gave me a raise (I didn't ask)... I know when I return with the car next week he's going to say he's paying me too much money.

i went to starbucks today around 10am and get me a orange frappuccino. So i'm drinking it sitting in the outside chairs that they have and txt'n a friend when i see the super hot starbucks cashier coming out on her break and walk over to the car. Shes checking the car out and trying to see inside the car (i have 2% tint), so i decide to open the car for her...she was obviously embarrased realized that the car was mine. She then came over and we started talking about the car and blablabla. Turns out she was really into cars and knew her cars well...and she always wanted a ride in a m5/m6 so i gave her a ride and dropped her back off at starbucks. She told me to come in any time for free drinks...to which i responded with

Quick funny story.

Stopped at a light near my house. I'm first in line on a 3 lane road. A cop pulls up next to me.

Him: Hey, you wanna race?
I look over and see him. A little stunned, I respond with... uhhhh.... really?
He laughs, I laugh.
Him: How does that thing drive?
I answer: Best driving experience hands down.
Him: I always loved those cars. Good to know you enjoy it. Well, I'm gonna make a right right here so you don't have to go slow. You take it easy now.
I smile and say my thanks and good night.
He turns, light changes to green... I go WOT through 1st gear and then cruise... Great end to a great night.

Nicest cop I've ever met.

Oh, got the does Ford make Lotus question today. First one in a year.

More awkward than anything.

I just got done seeing Get Smart last night at about 12:30am. I left the theater and went to get gas about a block away and I was being followed by a few cars. One car finally broke off but this black saturn followed me into the gas station. Pulls up right next to me and I see 3 girls inside, all head banging. I don't here any music, can't really make out any faces and about 30 seconds later they pull away.

Maybe they didn't like the Beastie Boys I was listening to.

"Hey nice Lotus!!!! Even though you have no back seats therefore you can't watch them - your car gets loads of attention anyway and its a light track car - I think you should put TV's in the headrests........... That won't make people point at you and say "look at that tube""

Maybe he has an onboard computer so while he's working on the engine he can pull up the pdf service manual files on his screens?

That would actually be functional. Mount them in the glass, put touch screens with covers on them. Service manual on one, web browser on the other with wifi. Won't have to go back in the house to look anything up. Go a step further and put in a webcam so all the armchair engineers around here can walk you through changing your oil or installing your sc kit.
