Had a few the other day when I was driving with the top off at the casino.

Cop: nice car what is it
Me: its an elise
Cop: thought so. It looks modded.
Me: yeah its turbocharged
Cop: so its pretty fast
Me: yes officer it gets me to the speed limit and manages to stay right there.
Cop: looks at his partner and walks to the driers side to see the wing from an angle.

After that I left and got on it so they could hear the bov. They were really cool about the car and said they loved the sound. Its nice to have cops like the car

At a cruise-in last year - a family with kids walks by the front of the car, the wife looks at the front badge for a second, looks over at the old man and says very matter of factly - "Oh, that's a Lotus" (Pronounced like parking LOT)

In Socal I would NEVER tell the cops that my car was modded. I actually quieted my BOV b/c of this concern, but it's still very audible from the inside and when the top is off.

I went out to get some gas today and ran into a black Esprit.

So there we were sitting in heavy traffic, chatting it up about each others cars. Also a British gentleman talked to both of us, apparently he had a S1 Elise before he moved to the US.

Then when I got to the gas station, the gentleman next to me noted he hasn't seen a Lotus in 12 years but has seen 3 this week. He asked if it was a sign that he should buy one. I told him hell yeah it was!

Nothing too dumb or funny, just cool people out today.
