I just remembered one from last month.
My wife and I were travelling through the States in my Elise. At a gas bar I got out to pump gas and a 20ish something girl asked shyly if she could take a cell picture of my car. I said "it's your lucky day, hop in and I'll take a picture of you with your cell phone". She ran around to the passenger side and attempted to jump in but my wife was already there. ![]() I then said I meant the driver's side. So she ran around to the driver's side and hopped in. With two women in the car I can only assume that they were talking about how great a guy I was. Actually my wife told me she was just asking questions about the car and that she was super excited.

A few people have pointed that out to me. I don't think she has a jealous bone in her body.
I've shown her a few photos of me with other girls in the Elise and she seems cool with it.

Wow, coming back from hanging out with a fellow member Heavyweight (Dan), I had my first run in with road rage in the lotus.
I was getting off the 91E fwy on the lakewood exit. This exit has multiple lanes for both left and right turns. I slow down coming off the freeway exit ramp to avoid bottoming out on the dip and turn left on the lane furthest to the left. After the turn I hit a stop light with a white trail blazer to my right and an SOA biker behind him. When the light turns green I accelerate and look to get into the right lane and notice that the SUV driver is going about the same speed. I push harder for the overtake and notice so does he. Not trying to race or get caught racing an SUV, I lift off, to which he then cuts me off, I roll my eyes and proceed to change lanes. I'm now at level with the SOA biker and to get behind him to turn right. SUV douche see's my lights going right so he veers right, almost killing the biker and running him off the road. I don't know what the guy in the SUV was trying to do or was mad about. I DO NOT drive fast in the lotus (on public roads) and I'm very mindful of others. Last I see, the Biker races to catch up the the SUV and I turn right on Flower street to avoid the drama. my GF later stated when I slowed to avoid bottoming out the SUV went around me, I assume to avoid rear ending me? I hope the Biker knocked some sense into that SUV driver. anyways, here is a MSpaint account of the event paths.

My worst road rage was, when on a three-lane expressway with an exit to the left, someone stopped *completely* (0 mph) in the left lane for about 5 seconds while waiting to get to the exit. All other traffic was doing 60 mph at the time.

I had a guy literally stop in front of my buddy's car on the freeway in midday traffic and come out charging us like a mad bull. Luckily, my buddy and I put a stop to him before he could get stupid. Maybe next time he will think twice about picking a fight with two guys riding in an all tinted out, black Escalade with 24" chrome rims.

I think I have you guys beat. Yesterday, I got a comment from a person about my Lotus....
But I was driving my Jeep!! Went to Lowe's late afternoon. In my Jeep with my 3 year old. Walking him over to the cart corral (got the 'race car' cart = score!) and a guy maybe in his 50's walking: Guy: So where's the Lotus? Me: Sorry? Guy: Where's your Lotus? Not driving it with the little one? Me: Looking confused Guy: Sorry - you used to work in my building and I always parked next to you in that Jeep or your Lotus. Recognized you (note: I always parked in the same spot). Me: Oh gotcha. Nope, it's in winter storage. Guy: Ah - man, what a great car. I had an Opel GT about 20 years ago and would love to get the wife to let me have another sports car like that. Got any tips? We then had a good little laugh. Super nice guy. As he's walking away, he says 'Happy New Year to you. Go 'Cats!' Northwestern had just won their bowl game (first in 8,691 years) and his car had a bunch of Northwestern decals on it. So there ya go - first 'I love your Lotus' comment - when I'm ten miles from my Lotus!

Had a 72 Opel Gt... Actually just sold it in Nov month as part of my agreement with the wifey to get my Elise... BEST decision I have ever made (second best decision if my wifey ends up seeing this post - Love you, honey!). The 2 cars only have size in common. GT has a 95 in wheelbase and 90 hp engine stock... That's where the comparison ends. Mine was on a tube frame chassis with a 3.4 v6 from a Camaro and a Ford 8.8 rear with 315/35s. But it still paled in comparison to the Elise.

Actually, their current coach is very highly regarded and will definitely be parlaying his experience at NW into a bigger job.
It's just that Northwestern has pretty much sucked since the dawn of man.
