Not funny or stupid, but enjoyable.

Parking to get coffee (pretty much all comments happen at Starbucks). As I'm getting out, I hear some chick say 'awesome car'. My first reaction is standard 'hey, thanks'. I turn around and she may have been one of the hottest chicks I've ever seen. She had the 'XSport' great on (a healthclub nearby), so I'm assuming she was a trainer.

I liked that.

And on the eight day, the Lord created yoga pants!!!

I was out cleaning the windows on my car today before my drive up PCH. A guy in his late 50's walking his little dog stopped by and started talking to me.

Guy - Have you seen the orange one of these up the street? It has a see through trunk lid and you can see the engine. A v6 right?
Me- I think you may have seen an Evora.
Guy - Nah, it was a car just like this! It looked kinda cool.
Me -Ok. i have to go now.
Guy - what kind of mileage does it get? (Typical SoCal eco-warrior comment)
Me - it gets almost 30mpg.
Guy- Wow, that kinda stinks, don't you think? Its so small and aerodynamic. You'de think it would get better mileage. Ever thought about putting a Prius engine in there?
Me - That would be the a completely pointless exercise. This isn't a hypermilers geekmobile, you know.
Guy- Well, maybe you should just get back to delivering pizzas.

What a friggin' tool. I'm surprised you hung in the conversation as long as you did. I would have had a hard time even looking at the guy after the Prius engine comment. Good gawd!

I was washing my Elise about a month ago before the endless rain starts in Portland and a car goes around my loop, slowly looking at my car, then another car behind them very slowly. About 5 minutes later they both come back and park across the street and walk up to me.

Lady with husband and kids: is it ok if we go in, it looks really nice.
Me:I'm kinda busy but did you have some questions?
Lady: how many sq feet it is, I saw its for sale.
Me: sq feet. It's a small car and no it's not for sale.
Lady oh no not the car, we like the looks but we are here to look at your house for sale.
Me: no my house is not for sale but the one across the street that has an address one number off from mine is.

I was driving up a parking garage, looking for a parking space. Some chick was driving down to leave. She swung wide around a corner, so I stopped so she could get by. She drove next to me and stopped.

She was smiling, shouting something to me, and banging on her window. No idea who she was or what she wanted. I'm guessing she was freaking out about the Lotus? No idea, really haha

Funny about the delivering pizzas thing. I went to get a pizza from papa johns last night and as I come out I held the door for an older delivery driver in his 50's-early 60s as I walk toward my car around his car which was parked right in front of the building sideways he says "Nice Lotus"
I told him thanks and then he lays it on me. Something I would have never known in a million years of ownership:
"You know it's got a Toyota engine in it!"
I thought this was a question at first and said "Yup sure does" but oh no he was telling me this because I obviously didnt know as he then says "Yes it's a toyota engine. Lotus body, Lotus suspension, Lotus interior but just a toyota motor"
My reply was "and soon to have the OEM Exige S240 supercharger setup on this toyota motor but thanks for letting me know"
Kinda wished I had a k20 swap in it so I could have really blown his mind and shown him nope it's a honda motor lol

What a flippin' tool. I love how people try to lower the Elige by saying that it's only got a Toyota engine in it. Not that the car he drives is the measure of a man by any means, but what was he driving? I suppose he had to put you in your place by making that comment so he can feel better about himself. I can not stand people who feel the need to try and lower your situation to make them feel better about theirs, because they only see personal worth in material possessions...
