Wide Body Exige
I was at a BBQ/fun drive track day yesterday and saw a wide body Exige. It looked like it was still in developement and it was trucked to the event and not driven that day. It had 225 in front and 255 in rear but it looks like the finished product might be able to go a little wider.

Isn't that going to unbalance the car at high speed? Not that it matters much to me...just curious.

Based on the cut line at the front of the rear wheel it looks like the car may have a tilt-back rear clam like the Esthi.
Edit: My mistake. I didn't think the Exige had a seam at that point, but I noticed on other pictures that it does. Last edited by ChrisB : 09-18-2005 at 08:58 PM. |

Nope, they are all like that. Pretty sure the wide fenders in the rear just go over the stock bodywork. If I had pics of the wheel wells, it would be easier to see.

You would think that since Lotus went to all that trouble making a new body for the Exige, that it would have looked something more like this. Something to distinguish it a bit from the Elise.

I love the Mr. T roof scoop! The roof scoop on the standard Exige looks too whimpy. Looks pretty good, would look a lot better with the wing. Must be prepping it for another.

Impressive alteration/modification of the Elise!
Is this a private/enthusiasist project or a design/tuning/fabricating company abroad that plans to market an Elise-specific widebody kit? (anymore websites or links?)
