Everyone keeps assuming the people who rented it "drove it like a rental".

I might buy it if they "drove it like a rental"-y'know, puttering to the convention center, then back to the hotel room-but my gut tells me that's not how people drive a rented Elise.

I don't know if I'd do it for $32K, but I'm not that afraid of a rental elise. Even one driven like it was stolen.

A little more than 32k will get you a nice 05 though.

Obviouly yes... for the right price.

If this was rented through the LCUSA/Enterprise program they ran last year, then there may be a specific allowance for warranty coverage despite the commecial use exclusionary language.

Only LCUSA can verify if the warranty is in force.

Yup.

I'd go over it with a fine toothed comb and expect to have some issues (such as gearbox) soon and budget my offer accordingly. I wouldn't pay what they're asking in this case though, as there's too many nice cars that could be had for not too much more money.

If I were building a race car and could score a bargain on an ex-rental, why not?

I wouldn't buy any car that's been a rental. You've got people who aren't familiar with the car, aren't familiar with the surroundings, etc. Every week, there's a new driver behind the wheel who "wants to see what this thing can do."

Not a lot different than a demo car...
