Wow... Lots of Loti in Sydney!

So its official next to L.A./San Fran., Sydney has a lot of Loti . Other than going on some drives in California and Florida, I've seen far more Lotus here in the past week than I've seen in a month anywhere else just driving around casually...

I do have to agree with you on that... Very cool place, unlike any city in the States.

If we'd known you were in town we would have gotten you along to our Wednesday night hook-up. This week was a doozy with at least 20 Elise variants (S1, Exige, 340R, SC models and the showcar we call the blingster).

It was a rare, if not a one off meet with so many cars and owners present.

But yes, Sydney Australia definitely has a very high number of all Lotus variants.

If you are in Sydney next Sunday you could join us for a gentle early morning run with Club Lotus. It looks like there will be a good roll up.

Is it an illusion from the photographs, or does the S1 Elise look much bigger than the S2?

The S1s only look big when they are coming up on you in the mirrors getting ready to lap.
So it is an illusion.

I left the morning after the pizza night, and am still in LA, but I have not seen one here yet... Closest thing was a pontiac soltace at Rosecrans and Sepulvida today around 1:30... Maybe I'll have better luck for a sighting in Denver or San Diego.

(And I realize now that Vancouver is a long way from LA!)

Illusion due to edge distortion from the wide angle shots. Look at the first photo and compare the S1 to the Exige in the centre of the photo (where distortion is miminal).

Come to Hollywood. I'll show you two!

Actually, you'll see more Lambos, Ferraris, Rolls, etc... in L.A. than Lotuses. It's great. They're not a "dime-a-dozen" like every other exotic here.

Sydney was great when I was there in '99, but I couldn't stand how long restaurant service takes...I wanted to pull my hair out during every meal.

er - Don't think I could handle Hollywood.
(The S1 owners already think S2 owners are of "suspect orientation".)

Was 1/2 expecting to see Jacob as I was in the SoBay.

Well it hasn't changed, so shave or wear a hat for protection, or one of the conical/frustum shaped dog collars if you go back..
But it is that way there, you get the table for the night, or at worse there are 2 sittings for the night. So you get used to enjoying the meal slowly, or you get a take-away, sushi-train, noodles, etc.
Europe is much the same, mostly a more layed back evening and less "on the go".

Went to lunch today in HB and the waiter asked how the meal was about 0.5 of a bite into it.
It was like being at the dentist.
I was thinking let me eat a mouthful and I'll let you know... So I just nodded like a dog with my face in the bowl. Woof Woof.

And in Denver as well

A bit of a late post, but Sept 16th Bob (lotusport) lined up a Lotus evening in Denver.
Had a nice drive up into the hills before hitting the Celtic.

Here are a few shots... Which again beckons me needing a flash.

The limo dropping me off at the Hotel:

Most of the group in the Celtic:

An impressive garage (Garage Envy):

Even got a steer...
I never knew what all the fuss was about with the Katana and reflash... Now I know

Bob - Thanks for lining it all up!
As the Aussies say "You're a top bloke"
Great night and lovely crowd.

I just got in this morning actually so I missed that one. But I may try to make it to something else. Is there a website or something for the local lotus group?
