Absolutely horrible news! A shop will charge you at least 20K to fix it. I think parting out and getting another will be your best option. Go after the other driver. It will take about 3 years, but the satisfaction will be worth it.

I think you need a competent body shop to determine if there is frame damage. If the frame is intact, then by all means repair the car. If the frame is damaged then say syronara.

The reason I talk to myself is because Iím the only one whose answers I accept.

I would like to purchase the car as-is from you, if you would be willing to do so. I have fixed these things before with frame damage and they have held up great. Please contact me by e-mail @ karterfox03@yahoo.com . Thanks, Alan Fox. Fox Auto Parts used and new aftermarket auto and truck parts

I live in San Antonio, TX I drove mainly on back roads rarely took it into the city it wasn't my DD. I planned to seriously track it when I received the car back from BOE but never got the chance to.

Ive decided I'm going to sell it as is or part it out. I'm not sure if anyone will be willing to pay what I want for it as is because to me all of the new parts are worth what I paid for them. If I did sell the car as is I would just repurchase everything I had on my elise and install them on a new lotus.

I can't comprehend how someone could possibly live after driving a 280ish whp lotus then not being able to.. I mean this seriously. I've driven many great cars but that one was incredible after the mods. I'll absolutely be buying another one I just don't want to go through the hassle of repairing mine.

There are a few other parts on the car that weren't listed I'll be posting more pictures and info soon to sell. As is I would be asking a value of a very slight devaluation of the total new parts plus what the car is worth in its condition. Thanks for everyone's interest, and yes I'll definitely be using a gopro at all times when I get my new one even with full coverage.

Just wondering... did you just purchase this car prior to sending it out for mods? The OP seems to be your first LT post. If that's the case, you really do have bad luck!

No, I purchased the vehicle from a lawyer in Houston late 2010.

the gopro only has value if you:
1. remember to turn it on every time you go for a drive
2. make sure it has battery charge
3. make sure the memory card isn't full

sure - i think the one that mounts on the rear view mirror feeds a bigger dedicated recorder - that system is specifically intended for vehicles.

Agreed. Black box dash cam is definitely the way to go. Just set it and forget it.
