fleeting CNBC mention

So, CNBC just did a piece on 'what to do if you had a million to burn on cars'. Was a fun piece with lots of humor. The talking head started out with the super porsche at 500k ... then said next would be an F-360 ... then add in the FordGT at 140k (she called the FordGT the 'night of the living dead car' ... since 'whereever you park it people will walk towards you like zombies - arms extended w/ a glazed look - to drool over the vehicle'.

She wasn't at a million spent yet so she added in a motor home and a pickup truck. Last of all she tossed in a BMW 1200 bike. 'Excellent crotch rocket' was her quote.

As she was wrapping up her report her last line, in a sad tone of voice, was something like 'well, we're now over a million $ ... if only we had some money left for a Lotus Elise'.

anyway-

Yep, funny how many think it costs much more than it actually does. The other shocker is the HP. The usual reaction is the opposite: "What, only 190 HP?" By then there's neither the time nor the inclination to get into a discussion about weight and HP/lbs.

This is strange...
I picked up a copy of Sport Compact Car today and what do you know ... it ALSO has an article titled 'if you had a million bucks to spend'.

And ... its last car is ALSO the Lotus Elise. Cept the author says he'd pull the engine and replace it with X and swap the tranny for Y, etc.

Strange.
