Any Recommendation's for an Office Desktop?

I'm not much of a computer whiz myself. Just curious if any brand seems to be ahead of the game these days.

What do you do on this office desktop?

I'd suggest a Mac if you do any kind of graphics work or just like being seen as "trendy".

Otherwise just get a Dell, HP, etc. with XP on it and call it a day.

There is always the route of building one yourself, but that requires giving up tech support, spending time building it, etc. Can be cheaper, and can tailor the computer to your specific needs.

Otherwise, I'd say Dell. WPI was running Dells for everything, and they stood up to the abuse from all the students very well.

If you want to be "trendy" then go for the mac. Personally i can't justify spending that much more for one, just so i have that operating system and have the joy of dealing with the Genius Bar.

thank's. As for the graphic's part I was thinking I may want to do some landscape design on it with the aid of some sort of software. IDK, I think customers might like it.

Other than that, just regular book keeping, billing by E-mail, high quantity and quality printing for card's, flyer's, brochure's & some internet, and I do not want to have to wait for it either.

I guess it all depends how in depth you want to get with design for your cards, flyers and brochures. You can use Adobe Photoshop on either Mac or PC. Typically a PC will benchmark faster for booking keeping, spreadsheets and word processing applications, and a Mac will benchmark higher on stuff like Photoshop and the like.

The quality of your prints is more dependent on your printer, that and the quality of the image given to it.

Either way you should be able to walk into a place like BestBuy and just pick one up.
