I'm predicting 1 million points shortly.....buildings and research are being finished soon. Now to find a source for a lot more crystal and sulphur so I can upgrade my 4 remaining governors houses

Ex, those are great islands!
FYI, I moved my hometown, and got the following islands for my colonies: Sprite [46:58] - wood 27 wine 23 Xigee [47:58] - wood 25 stone 20 Lisee [47:58] - wood 25 stone 20 Vorae [47:57] - wood 26 glass 21 All have +10% wonders, and all are within 1-2 clicks from each other, too! I lost a few points moving my hometown, but I figure this is the time to do it! |

I think one of my capital just got looted. All my troops and ships are gone and all my materials are virtually gone. Anyway to know for sure (i.e., is there some notification) and any suggestions to prevent this again?

You should have something about it under the military adviser.
Build up your walls, and spy level. As you increase your town size make sure you increase your walls. Since I've hit level 20 on my spy hideouts I don't get attacked nearly as much. The best defense is a good offense. The more stuff you have around (resources) the more you need someone there to guard them. Having a decent sized military will also deter quite a few attackers. Most people are looking for an easy target, try not to be one. |

An important note: wall size has nothing to do with espionage. It is a good deterrent, though.
Spy success % is determined by town size and # of spies in town. On alpha, I have all my towns lvl 23 or better, and all hideouts lvl 25, with 20 spies remaining in the defense of the town (anti-espionage). I also have lvl 20 walls just in case someone gets a spy in and can see what I have built. If people can't see what you have in your towns, they're less likely to attack. Another point, though, you still need a decent generals score. People can research how big your army is through the highscore panel by searching you and looking at your Generals score. What I do is keep most of my army in 2 towns - one at either end of my empire. That way, I can attack easily in either direction. The rest of the towns have 20+ spies in town to keep people from knowing they're poorly defended. =) Oh, and btw, I never get attacked. ![]() |

I got attacked once, way back at about the 50,000 point level.
I'm a conservative and only pillage the occasional un-allied player that I know I can beat. Plus I have all spy lvls and wall lvls to at least match the town hall lvls, and keep at least a modest force of ships and units at each town. I don't want too much military though, because I want to run a positive gold income even while producing wood, luxuries and researches at full pace.

Build your town hall BIG and you'll have plenty of gold. lvl 24 or 25 will allow you to maintain a substantial army all while bringing in good income. Also, research economic future multiple times. Each level of research will bring you an additional 600g per hour per town. |

Well I've gotten all of my GRs up to where I can either create a new colony or save it for a MWC. I haven't decided what I want to do yet.
I'm leaning for another colony, maybe another wine colony (#3). |

I have 2 GRs to lvl 4, 2 to go. I'm gonna go with a quasi-mobile / glass colony for colony #5... I'm almost done researching Glass, and so I'm thinking of making a colony with mostly warehouses to store glass and increase research speed. I think that could help me blow up.

anyone else having problems loading the page? i thought it was just my blackberry connection the last few days, but now it is happening on the wifi.?

Is it time to start recruiting?
To do so I think we need to revamp the alliance. I'd like to reorganize us into platoons by area. Each platoon is in charge of their sector and can recruit good solid members. Also I think we'll need a forum of our own to help with security. This area is public domain and anyone can come by and read what they see here. To grow this alliance we're going to need something else. What do you guys think? |
