GET THE BIKE!!!

[/Jedi Mind Trick]

Shreveport dealership has TWO red 1125R's, come get one! They're asking about $6500 TT&L out the door.

They have this XB12R for sale for $5,300. It MSRPs for $10,299. I REALLY want it!

And for you OCLotus, some hard to resist propaganda:

Just got my paperwork:

Cash Price Of Motorcycle: 4,875.00
Accessories and Labor: 112.00
Total Selling Price: 4,987.00

Dealer Preparation: 168.00
Freight: 285.00
License Fee: 45.00
Documentation Fee: 64.00
Other Charges & Fees: 117.00 (detail listed below)
- HANDLING FEE 50.00
- MISC FEES 18.00
- MORTGAGE FEE 10.00
- TIRE TAX 4.00
- TITLE 35.00

Sales Tax: 340.00
Total: 6,006.00

Normally I'm not a fees guy but with the price of the bike going from $11,999 to $4,875 I would have felt like a tool trying to negotiate away fees.

The higher handlebar kit is actually the 2010 1125CR stock handlebars. It retails for $215 and comes with the cables you need. I ordered mine with the bike and got a smoking 10% off I hope to pick the bike up on Friday and put the higher bars on right away. I'll report back when I do.

Finished the handlebar swap last night and rode the bike into work today. What a difference! I actually sit full upright with the 2010 bars on, but I'm only 5'6". After working on the bike I have a much higher appreciation for the engineering that went into it. The gauges are high quality brand. The throttle bodies are huge and give you a great view on the intake valves looking straight down them. The fuel in the frame is just a great idea. The 8 piston radial mount front brake is sick. Even the tool kit is in a nice pouch, not some crappy plastic case. The manual tells you how to change the oil (this is NOT in my 2008 Ducati Hypermotard book) and offers suggested suspension setting based on rider weight.

I showed the guys at work. They really liked how it looks. Said it reminded them of something Judge Dredd would ride.

Nope.

The 1125's were $4999 but that was before tax and fees. The XB's that I have seen were in the mid $6ks.

here in Nor-Cali, the dealers wouldn't discount the bikes more than the rebate. $5K for the CR and $3K for the XB12's.

Did you sit on the bike before & after those bars? I thought I read 09's & 2010's use the same bars & other places I read they are different with the 2010's being higher. I wouldn't mind sitting up a little more but didn't know if I should get those bars or just adjust mine since they are suppose to be adjustable??

I never got a response when I e-mailed Glendale Harley in Southern California either. Oh well, that's okay too.

the stock cr bars will adjust a little. try that b4 buying new bars.
you can loosen the 4 bolts and turn the bars up but only a little as the cables will start to bind. loosen bolts, turn bars up a bit and tighten.
you will then need to adjust the bolts holding the mirror stalks to the bar.
not a huge difference, but enough for me.
i would imagine the more upright bars will take some weight off the front end and make the bike very wheelie prone. that could be a good thing.
another possible drawback to the higher bars is it sits you right up in the windblast.

Damn, I want to buy one, maybe I'll trade my MTB for one. Want to go the other direction? A nice bike where YOU are the engine?

Anyone know of someone in the market for the ultimate racing mountain bike? $10,000 invested, Merlin XLM frame with all the best in parts. Sell $5,500. Heck the frame alone is close to $3000! 16inch. Weighs 13lbs.
