Cowardly censors

Removing Keith's obituary thread from active topics without explanation says volumes.

Re: Letting keith post but not advertise

I can see LT's position a bit. Wouldn't they have to monitor Keith's posts if they allowed this?

He's a real good guy and we'll miss him, but I can see both sides of this.

I was under the impression that this site was initially made without the intent to make money off suppliers for our limited number of cars...

It was.....when Randy owned it. He sold to Autoforms for a significant amount of money. It is certainly understandable that they would expect to make money off their investment.

Steve is an interesting guy. Great guy really.... but he is better at starting things than continuing them (IMO). He had some ideas about what the ultimate community forum consisted of. I often did not agee with his concept.

lotusport, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I recently sent the following PM to Administrator:
Quote:
Quote:
They are removed from posting ONLY if their account is found to be in arrears, and at that point they are contacted first with their posting privilege revoked at a later date.

Recently, an audit was done on the site, and some vendors posting privilege was removed due to non-payment. Keep in mind the accounts of the vendors removed during this time were well overdue and considered very delinquent by any well accepted standard. This policy was implemented due to the fact that we are trying to be fair and help out the vendors that ARE paying to advertise here. We don't want non-paying vendors advertising when others pay for the same privilege.

It is unfortunate the myth was perpetuated that vendors are banned unjustly by some erroneous threads on this site, but it seems the damage has been done. If anybody has any questions about the rules or policies of Lotustalk.com, feel free to PM me and I will answer your inquiries. I look forward to having a discussion with any members with questions. Thanks.
No questions, Nadeem, just a critical observation:

It serves no purpose other than punitive retribution to revoke posting privileges to vendors in arrears. It is an irony that you removed SweetDaddyD from posting privileges, yet his banner ad for Chuforia Graphics remained for quite some time. What are you really trying to do? I'd suspect that there was something further behind removing his posting privileges.

It would seem reasonable to suspend the advertiser's ads, but removing posting privileges makes you suspect in reasonable observers' eyes. You might want to re-think your rationalization above...because that's all it is: rationalization. It is very poorly thought out.
Wonder if I'll soon be banned altogether. Oh well, this forum is rapidly losing my interest. I'll be around on Lotus Ltd's forum...

Nadene, You must always remember that nothing positive can come from adding more negativity to an already negative situation.

Say what you will about whatever and whomever you wish. The fact is, Nadene, you are wrong. There are many more people who see that and have moved on accordingly. It isn't a SINGLE person you've offended so. It is an entire community.

As for me, I hope you live to be one hundred years old and me a hundred minus a day so I won't know good people like you passed away.

I just can't get worked up about this. SDD is a great guy, a great vendor, and the rules that say you're either a sponsor or you're out are puzzling at best, but I just can't open a vein over it.

This is a car forum. It's changed greatly over the last 5 years, and people come and go. A lot of the folks who moved over 'there' were folks who weren't here from the beginning. They came in, did their thing, moved on. Evolutionary.

New folks will be here as they find Lotus.

I just want information and some Lotus commraderie. I really don't see these rules limiting that too much. And I don't limit my sources of Lotus info to this site.

There was a crowd that moved on when Frank left. Took a lot of good info and insights with them, but they also took a lot of that sophomoric, juvenile 'mine is bigger than yours' stuff most people grew out of long ago. And it's not been missed here by most.

Water finds its own level. The evolved Lotus Talk will have its audience. The curiously non-creatively named new environment will have its.

And lots of people will drop into both casually, and not take any of it too seriously.

'Most' people have? Really?

Average number of posts per day here vs 'there?'

That's like somebody saying "I don't know anybody who supports policy X." And therefore concluding that NOBODY supports policy X. Only to find out later, and be dumbfounded by, Policy X winning in referendum.
