Hey John, don't oil that hinge. It is perfect for Halloween! You can invite all the neighborhood kids over to check out the haunted Elise! Um, actually forget that idea, I remember you tried that once before with some kid at a restaurant and it didn't go over too well...........

White lithium is a better lube, but it doesn't look pretty. Silicon is good for places you see. Wd-40 is only a temp lube, but that's really not what it's for.

use a wax lubricant - it will last forever as long as you don't pressure wash it. I like to use wax lubes in places like hinges and other places I only want to lube once then forget it. Pedro's ice wax is my favorite.
