Actually, I am not only not referring to Randy, I am not referring to Mr. Cut and Paste either.

I am talking about the person who was acting like a real (expletive) in the Obama thread, which led to it being closed.

I'm a dem and think Hilary is a smart woman. However, she should see the writing on the wall and know that Obama is more electable than she. She does seem to be the most reviled woman on Earth!!!

She may be hanging on by a thread, but things like this keep her alive

Another Chicago minister is causing headaches for Barack Obama after he told the Democratic candidate’s church congregation Sunday that Hillary Clinton felt entitled to the presidency because she’s white.
“When Hillary was crying … I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white. And this is mine’,” he said, shouting at times. “Then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey I’m Barack Obama’. And she said, ‘Oh damn! Where did you come from? I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show’!”

I dont think the whole point of this new reverend flap is to link Obama to this guy....I will concede that all the candidates have loony reverend connections....

I think the point is this - they can keep telling us that these dont reflect the views of Barack Obama..BUT they sure as hell do seem to reflect the views of those in his church - watch this video and some of the others and see how they are all cheering...so why did he spend 20 years in a church that *cough* so differs in its message from his own beliefs?

It's still hugely entertaining... there's not much difference between a sermon at Trinity United and a Richard Pryor stand-up...

**Yawn**

This guilt by 4th degree association crap is just lame. Has Barack ever said any of this stuff? No. Is there any evidence that he believes it? No. Does anyone care? Again, a resounding NO.

Maybe... but what does he believe in? It's hard to tell:

Quote:
First, on Feb. 25, Mr. Obama downplayed Rev. Wright's divisiveness, saying he was "like an old uncle who sometimes will say things that I don't agree with." A week later, Mr. Obama insisted, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial," suggesting that Rev. Wright was criticized because "he was one of the leaders in calling for divestment from South Africa and some other issues like that."

The issue exploded on March 13, when ABC showed excerpts from Rev. Wright's sermons. Mr. Obama's spokesman said the senator "deeply disagrees" with Rev. Wright's statements, but "now that he is retired, that doesn't detract from Sen. Obama's affection for Rev. Wright or his appreciation for the good works he has done."

The next day, Mr. Obama offered a fourth defense: "The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation." Mr. Obama also told the Chicago Tribune, "In fairness to him, this was sort of a greatest hits. They basically culled five or six sermons out of 30 years of preaching."

Then, four days later, in Philadelphia, Mr. Obama finally repudiated Rev. Wright's comments, saying they "denigrate both the greatness and the goodness of our nation." But Mr. Obama went on to say, "I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother. . . ."

Ten days later, Mr. Obama said if Rev. Wright had not retired as Trinity's pastor, and "had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended . . . then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there at the church." (Never mind that Rev. Wright had made no such acknowledgment.)

On April 28, at the National Press Club, Rev. Wright re-emerged – not to apologize but to repeat some of his most offensive lines. This provoked an eighth defense: "[W]hatever relationship I had with Rev. Wright has changed, as a consequence of this. I don't think that he showed much concern for me. More importantly, I don't think he showed much concern for what we are trying to do in this campaign . . . ." Self-interest is a powerful, but not noble, sentiment in politics.
Then again, maybe not. Clearly he believes in being popular. After that, who knows?

Did you read where I posted this?????

I dont think the whole point of this new reverend flap is to link Obama to this guy...

I dont care if Obama never met this guy...the point is he spent 20 years in a church where apparently this is the prevailing belief and the focus of repeated sermons to standing ovations. That says something about Obama. The Dems are shooting themselves in the foot.. oh well......

Kool-Aid is a Republican drink.

And it's not a victory drink.

I don't see it Larry.

Hillary is not likable enough to win the general election. Besides that, if she gets the nomination it will be a slap to the face of a huge number of primary voters since Obama won the popular vote.

Obama is the likely nominee, but his numbers are poor in the swing states needed to actually win the election. And he's not getting the support he needs in the south where the party base won't vote for him because they think he's a Muslim, or because he's black.

Conservatives might not come out to vote in high numbers since McCain is the Republican candidate. The question is whether McCain will get enough of the independent vote to overcome the number of conservatives who will stay home.

I think apk919 hit the nail right on the head.

Obama is a half-white, half-Kenyan, Hawai'i born, former expatriate, educated at Harvard Law.

When he joined Trinity Church of Christ, he was seeking to become a community organizer and local politician representing working class African Americans with whom he didn't have anything in common but superficially similar appearance.

I suspect his membership at Trinity Church of Christ is/was a pander to that community (Chicago's Southside black community). And that's OK. Pandering is a huge part of our political system, on both sides of the aisle.

I think the favored angle of attack, "Obama's church membership means he's unpatriotic and is racist" is disingenuous. The real story, "Obama panders to voters and uses manipulates identity politics to his advantage", is far too banal to inspire outrage.
