The video mentions the altimeter requires calibration since it relies on the barometer. So how accurate is it exactly and how easy is it to calibrate?

I'd use it during hikes and other things... that'd probably be my favorite feature. Hmmm... I'm in the market for a new watch - this one is enticing, but I'm still leaning towards the Lotus watch.

200 bucks is a little less if you want a swiss timepiece but plenty of japanese with that budget.
Designers - I'd go with Armani (some are really cheesy), I remember seeing Burberry had some nice 44mm (that was hong kong, so it might just be getting here), ofcourse gucci (I have a gucci and although I dont wear it often it is a nice timepiece) Dont forget movado, they are cheap, I think. And as other people said, Invicta is really good for the price, tags I never liked but they are awesome watches. Citizen is good, I have a few eco drives (gifts) and its really cool that you dont have to worry about battery and servicing. and oh, swatch watch if you want something totally weird. Other than that needless markup has a nice collection . |

I just bought this watch to give my heirloom Rolex an occasional rest.
Cost $350-something at http://www.discountwatchstore.com/st..._27333591.html It's really big and might look a little silly on a not so big person. Matt M |

The Citizen chronograph watches are also quite good in the same price range. It is a bit more 'busy' on the display, and a bit heavier; plus I find the digital part of the display is tougher to read, but YMMV, depending on your visual acuity.

why not go for something with a nice clean considered look, instead of a wrist-gadget?

![]() http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/maga...0.asp?id=12827 It's really quite interesting the similarities for us guys between purchasing a car and purchasing a watch. Two of the items that aside from functionality, also tend to reflect a man's taste, personality, lifestyle, social status,.etc. And just like cars, some guys like to collect watches. I'm with you on staying away from gold. (no offense to any of you guys who favor the gold-chain/unbuttoned-shirt/chest-hair look!). In the price range you're looking at, and even less, there's a ton to choose from, and you can't really go wrong with any of them. Get what you think looks good on your wrist, that you yourself will enjoy. I was just browsing and saw a ton of great looking Sieko's, Citizens and such over on Macys webpage. You should definitely visit a store and try them on to see how they fit your wrist or feel in person (and how much they weigh should also be taken into consideration - those big divers watches can be heavy!) -and then order online once you know what you want. Even if you're not spending a ton of money, a watch is something you'll likely keep forever, so I say keep with a timeless look if you can, so you won't grow sick of it. If sometime later in life you decide to go for something more "sophisticated" or blingy check out this site: http://www.wannabuyawatch.com/watch/watches.htm I've been to their store and that's where I bought my vintage Rolex date-just and recently got a groovy vintage Omega. (smaller, less bulky mens watches) but my daily-driver watch is a Seiko kinetic (that looks a lot like my Rolex actually, which I got at Costco 10 years ago for only $140.) and if I tracked my Lotus, I'd be wearing my Casio G-Shock- I take it surfing and mtn biking,. and after 6 years, I'm still on the original batteries!

Luminox for me
My days are often spent in dark rooms where a watch with your typical glow in the dark face fades to black in about 30 minutes. I discovered the luminox line of watches about 5 years ago. the hand and face have "tiny self-powered micro gas lights". They're tiny glass tubes that glow virtually endlessly. This is the watch I've got, it's not huge, nicely made for the money, and most importantly for me I can always read it in the dark. I've managed to not scratch the crystal which is a first in a watch I've had for this long. It retails for about $240 but you probably can find it for less

As mentioned, the stainless steel diver is my favorite style. From what I have searched so far, I am leaning towards the Invicta. The Casio I wear every day I have had for close to 10 years and only cost me 50 bucks. It has become a bit scratched over the years but is still in decent shape, the problem is that it is becoming less reliable and needs a battery replacement every 6 months or so.

Also, some of the Garmin GPS systems have altimeter functions. If you have access to one, it should be easy. [I seem to recall that altimeter and the barometer are dependent on one another, so it will take a while to get an accurate weather prediction if you've just taken a plane ride.]
