Sorry to hear about your loss. What beautiful memories she leaves behind. How is her brother taking it?

I am so sorry to hear of your loss I really feel for you during this incredibly tough time.

I have two 14 year old dogs, they are my first pets.
They have been together since birth and if one has to go to the vet the other one is completely lost. One got lost overnight recently and i was completely devastated until we found him. I really don't know how i will handle the inevitable..

So sorry for your lose. We're on our toes here with our rottie, he's been sick for almost a month with some prostate and stomach issues. Hope your other pup is ok...

It is so hard when a beloved member of the family passes, including our pets. When we lost our first doggie a few years ago, someone told us about Rainbow Bridge, and that helps a little.

We'll never forget our little guy...I'm sure it's the same for you too.

Sorry for your loss

Shadow and Cardinal,

I'm very sorry to read of your losses. I know how hard it is. I just lost my 15 year old pet, Matty. She's still my avatar, though...I can't bring myself to change it. I'd been reluctant to tell anyone since an animal isn't a person and I didn't feel comfortable sharing my loss with folks who have lost a person in their lives, but very quickly, friends who have lost far more than me found out Matty died and were understanding and consoling. Animals are wonderful and so are people.

My sister-in-law (a magazine editor) suggested that I write an obituary for my dog, saying it would help capture memories and deal with my sadness. I ended up writing a short essay about her and, to my surprise, it really did help.

Sadly, loss is a part of life. Hang in there.

Tom
