that would be taking a page right out of your playbook.
and i believe you have it copyrighted.

It is admitted by all that he was much addicted to women, as well as very expensive in his intrigues with them, and that he debauched many ladies of the highest quality; among whom were Posthumia, the wife of Servius Sulpicius; and Lollia, the wife of Aulus Gabinius.

If deficits are projected in the trillions each year, he'd have a problem with a moderate social candidate running on fiscal restraint.
I really think that you nailed it here.

I agree - he's going to loose the hairstylist vote.

Exactly. This is why I was mentioning red herrings before. If you give them something to cling to and blow out of proportion, they will. Then, real dialogue gets lost, and we all suffer. The people with the witch doctor signs would do everyone a favor if they just left that crap at home.

It is true that today the Republicans would stand a good chance of winning the presidential seat by running a "fiscal responsibility" dominated platform. However, the next election is three years away. Much will have happened between now and then.

If the economy picks up, this argument loses steam. It the economy worsens, we will likely be attacking much more specific issues than "fiscal responsibility".

Yep, I agree with this. Three years is a lifetime in politics.
