Beautiful car... but what's with that hood?

And yes, I feel slightly depressed now...

While I personally completely agree with the way he feels, I think it is completely inappropriate to do this as part of a car review. We learned absolutely nothing about the Aston Martin other than the fact it has a V12.

I hope there was more to it than this, and this was just kind of a wrap up of sorts?

An ending? Well, I don't know...

When I was in high school (the 70s) there were fuel crises, embargoes, emissions regulations, fuel economy standards, a recession, wars in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, etc. etc. etc.

I wondered whether I'd ever get to drive my dream car, a 911 Turbo. Would there even be gasoline powered cars when I would (hopefully) be able to afford one.

I really shouldn't have worried so much. I try not to worry too much today either...

It depressed me because I can't afford a V12 Vantage.

apk919 is right. As long as we have the need for speed (and guys like turbophil), there will be cars for us.

That's not a car review....that's a video of a depressed man driving. As stated above, nothing was mentioned about the specs, handling, amenities.....except that it has a V12. That's 4:20 of my life I will never get back

I thought it was wonderful... Artistic, full of metaphors, less is more...

To me it demonstrated the incredible sound, great lines, the very pinnacle of all great engineering put into the cars we so love... so great is the achievement this vehicle represents, it reminds him of our closeness to wonderful pieces of engineering art like it being banned.

one of my favorite all-time cars. I love the video, I agree there should have been a bit more info on the car and maybe a drive by the stig.

It needs to be put into context. It was the final piece in the last episode of the current series of top gear. It was never meant to be a car review and to be honest top gear never does serious car reviews - it's an entertainment program with cars as (sometimes loose) theme.
A petrolhead will already know all about the v12 vantage and as a standalone item I found it simple, understated and stunning. So out of the norm for a top gear article. an Aston shouldnt need to be all shouty going 'look at me' with the stats and numbers. I couldn't think of a better way to showcase what an Aston is all about.

It reminded me if the final scene in 'blackadder goes forth' - "good luck everybody"

It may be the end of the supercar era, but that just means the beginning of the era of cars like Lotus. Good things...

There's also a lot more reason for pessimism in the UK right now, with the interfering governments at all levels, whose primary objective seems to be to find what people like and ban it.

Saw this a couple months ago, I actually cried. D:

I don't think it's the end of supercars, there's always gonna be enough Petrolheads to make a difference in the industry, and if not, we can all just go to Jay Leno's garage
and raid the place.

Oh jeez, lighten up everyone. Life is 100% fatal you know...

Go for a drive in your Lotus this weekend. Or next. Or both... the end is not nigh...

I like to think that as long as there is demand, and people with loads of money, there will be supply.

Government regulation is more powerful And they are so ignorant about environmental issues, they will cut these cars loose without second thought, even if it makes virtually no environmental impact.
