A pit is the way to go. Sheesh, you're half way prepared when you need to hide a body or two. Am I right?

Can I get a hell ya?

Okay, so the sheet rock isn't quite finished and I don't have the power connected yet, but it is about done for the year, and I was able to arrange it with everything inside before winter hits.

The lift definately gives me the room to fit everything inside and still have room for a work space.

Just a few last pictures for now. Since the garage is just about fully functional; I still have to finish the floor and get real power connected, but those will wait until next summer. It is a bit of a pain only having one circuit and several extention cords off of that though.

Anyway, this shows reason one that I am glad that I had it built 32' deep. Room for the Elise and Neon nose to tail. The extra floor space provided by the lift is just a bonus.

Here's reason two for the extra depth. Work space behind the long bed, quad cab 3/4 ton Ram.

Just one more of the Elise covered on the lift. Having her up on the lift does make it easier to change the headlights. I had to replace the left low beam, and also adjusted it up. Now I just have to adjust the right one before I take her out next spring.

And of course, the outside during winter. I added the wood shed off the east side this summer so that when the snow slides off the roof it won't knock the shed over.

Absolutely. Summer is definately the best time to visit. It might be hard to find me in the winter, I like to take a lot of trips when it is cold and dark here.

So after two years, the electricity is finally connected. I went for outlets in the ceiling so that I can just replace the $10 shop lights if they fail, rather than wiring in more expensive ones. It also makes it easier to move them if I want.

I also decided to put the extension cord spool in lieu of a light directly above the lift for obvious reasons. It is great for plugging in trouble lights when I am working on the car.

Now for the last picture, the floor. I used Rust-oleum Epoxy Shield. Since I hadn't sealed the concrete at all it went down well. I used two coats because the first one soaked into the porous concrete. I painted one side, moved everything over and then painted the other side, so the shades of gray are a little different between the east and west sides of the garage, but it still looks good. And it cuts down on the dust in the air.

That finishes the work on the garage until the house remodel is finished. Eventually the walls and ceiling of the garage will get taped, mudded, and painted, but that can wait.
