My First BMW

New 2016 S1000RR. Picked it up this morning. Feels nimble compared to my ZX10R, which has lots of mods and weight reduction. Very smooth ride for a sport bike. Had to rearrange my garage to accommodate the new toy.

I'm not a motorcycle guy at all, but I've always thought BMW's were engineering art.

Looks great!

I've got a new job and I'm commuting on my motorcycle lately.

I've got a lot of reading to do. So many capabilities that I haven't had before.

Thanks! Even stock I think it looks good.

Yeah, ghetto garage with decent contents. At least I'm not like the majority of people in California that use their garage as a storage area and leave their rides outside. I'd love to have a bigger garage so I could add my Tacoma.

Kidding with you San. Who cares what the garage looks like when you have all that eye candy. 👊🏻

It's all good. It's just a hassle to get to whatever is parked furthest in.

Those are leaves. I can see how they look like oil spots, but they'd be under the car, not in front of it.

I got that. I've had the Corvette for 15 months and it's only got ~1500 miles on it. The only oil it has lost was when the oil was changed. 10+ quarts (Z51 dry sump).

They all get decent MPG (not that I check) until you mash on the gas. I wish I lived closer to the canyons.

My wife wants an 848, so we went to the ducati dealer and they were very open to letting you ride any of the demo bikes they had. He told us each time we took a bike out, just be back within in hour. We both rode an 848, 1199, and a S1000RR. The BMW definitely felt very smooth, and I liked riding it. It was like a "grown up" kind of sport bike. I wouldn't mind having one.

Only on the weekend. Been working 50+ hours a week plus the commute, so no time during the week.
