A buddy of mine just turned me on to this site:

Quotes from Custom Manufacturers and Parts Distributors (Machining, Fabrication, Fasteners, etc.)

he would make cad drawings, put them up there & let people bid on how inexpensively they could make the part. Anything from a prototype to large run for resell. My friend used to draw up plans for RC car parts - often carbon fiber - then test & resell them when the design worked out well. He said the quality was always very good.

I don't have any vested interest in the site & haven't yet used it myself, but thought I'd pass it on in case anyone was brain storming ideas & didn't know how to bring them to fruition.

Now go make some cool parts & sell them to me for cheap for hooking this up.
