i guess the way i look at things is that you are a hypocrite.
what i am saying is if its ok for you to complain about something, then why would you go and do the exact thing that you complain about.

I don't think in either case, that would count as "virtually nobody in office"
And the amendment was the use of force. It didn't exactly say anything about authorization to invade and occupy for 100 years, this is left to the judgement of the president. It's sufficiently vague as to guarantee it will be passed.

Is this picture offensive to some people?! Why is that?

I think it is a little humurous, but more importantly it has a political message:

oo7 Bush's administration Suck.

Not anymore.

I removed it because it offended some people here.

correct, this picture is no issue, the one in 472, is however, and is clearly a racial statement.

the issue i have with it is that the person who posted it has called many here racist when they dont agree with what he professes.
EDIT:
larrys' picture which has now been removed said
"mccain, keeping the white house white."

would it be OK to post a picture of barak in the same format as the mccain picture and say
"turning the white house black"?
the answer is clearly NO, and would get a great deal of backlash, i would be one of the ones who would be angered/offended by it, and post against this type of ideology. i hate bigots more than anything.

i am only using this statement as an example, i dont even like typing it, but its showing how larrys' picture is racist, which he doesnt seem to be able to see, due to his "passion".

I hate bigots more than anything, they are usually not capable of thinking for themselves, and tend to generalize people based on appearances, not on substance.
they are usually full of rage, and have very empty lives.
they are also usually hypocrites.
they are usually intolerant of how others are different in any way.
if i am describing someone here, then so be it.

I think larrys posting that picture of mccain is completely out of line with what this forum promotes............no personal attacks, and having peaceful discussions.
the picture is an attack on so many levels.

on the basic level; it implies if you vote for mccain, its because you are voting against the other candidate based on his color of his skin and not on substance and issues.

I was under the impression that the moderators has already sternly warned larry about his offensive ways in the political threads, but it doesnt seem to be "in effect" any more after only a few short weeks.

so is it going to be OK to respond in an equally aggresive way, or will the moderators again ask larry to either "play nicely" or go away as they did a few weeks ago.

i have no problem with others thinking differently, i think its healthy in a society, but when someone goes overboard as larry always does, it only diminishes an otherwise good discussion.

I dont know larry, nor do i want to for obvious reasons, but there is usually problems because of his attacks on people he brands as right wingers, or really anything that is different than himself..............political bigotry.

I wonder if he is the same when it comes to religion? if someone has core values different from his does he blast them for that as well? i see no difference in the 2, its all bigotry.

unfortnuately, his due to his anger, politics are ALWAYS brought into the discussion even in non political threads, and hence the backlash from people like me.

I understand this is a political thread, but does that make it immune from the rules of the forum?

There are hundreds of political cartoons and photos posted here.

I went back and erased one that bothered people.

And you're still at it.

fishguy, why don't find something else to do besides bore everyone here with your endless love letters to me?

Wow. I just heard her 'It's full speed to the White House.' speech. It looks to me like she got whipped. She barely won Indiana and got creamed in NC. She's getting killed and dragging down her party.

And this is from someone who'd rather chew glass than vote for Hillary.

Hilary's thread has a few more pages of responses, so maybe Barack IS finished.

Since when do typical Americans vote for a candidate based on thier 'policies'?

"Gut feeling, guy I'd want to have a beer with, good looking, looks 'presidential'", etc. These are the things that people vote on, not policies.
