It's amazing that with all that oil wealth, countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela (and probably even Russia) are doing nothing to create an economy that will outlive their oil reserves. I can't wait either...

... or maybe paying the National Debt?

No, you'd rather waste money killing people for no apparent reason whatsoever?

Actually, it's the official stance of most major religions that people of other religions are misled, not nuts, and definitely not "led by Demons" (i.e. EVIL). Saying that Mohamed is evil or that we should destroy Islam is a Jihadist mentality. It is religious extremism to the point of cultural intolerance, and equates to what we call "Terrorism" when directed from "the other side".

In short, it could be deduced that McCain is morally led by whacko Christian extremists (terrorists) who want to rid the world of all members of another religion, and he's got the most powerful army in the world to back that motive if he chooses to execute on it. Sound familiar? Does the world Holocaust ring a bell?

I never said that - you obviously missed my sarcasm as that's how the money will be earmarked by the liberals. Nowhere did I justify our spending in Iraq.

Personally, I would get more satisfaction over seeing the money thrown in a big bonfire than to subsidize the perpetuating moral hazard of this country's entitlement mentality.

"Entitlement programs, in addition to AFDC, Food Stamps, and Medicaid, include Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, Worker's
Compensation, Supplemental Security Income, Veterans' Benefits, Earned
Income Tax Credit, and Selected Tax Expenditure Items."

Are you talking about all of these programs, or something specific?

Some people believe that whenever you commit a sin you're being "led by demons" (i.e. the devil). That doesn't make the people evil. And as I said, it's not my stance anyway.

I never heard McCain say anything remotely like this.

Where has McCain said he's morally led by someone who believes this? This is pure hyperbole. Obama's the one who's been financially supporting an obvious racist, bigot, egomaniac and America hater.

Promise? We'd hate to lose you Steve, but I'm really tired of people saying they're leaving the country if so and so gets elected, and then realize that even with so and so in charge, they seem to want to stay.

Larry, you know that if we're subscribed that we get an email when the thread is replied to with the post in it? So we see the stuff that you post before you inevitably edit/delete it almost immediately. I've sort of made a game of looking at how much your posts change from when you first post your reply to the final edit. You might want to take a minute to consider what you've typed before you push that button.

You've probably noticed that I edit what I say so that I don't hurt people's feelings.

I start out angry and then edit it down.

I personally don't like any of the candidates. You would think that in a nation of 330 million people we could find better people to run this country.

Um, the funds that are being used for the Iraq/Afganistan operations are actually not money in the US Treasury, but rather borrowed money (e.g., from China and other investors). If we don't spend it, we are just not borrowing it. It won't be anything that we can turn around and spend somewhere else. [That is, not maxxing out your credit card on some stuff is probably a good thing, but it really isn't such a smart idea to max it out on some other stuff.]

I don't ever pluck things out of air. I always back up my arguments with fact.

$200billion between Jan `07 and this year alone.

What Iraq will cost the U.S. - Jan. 11, 2008
