There was an interesting "poll" in the Post the other day. In answer to the question, more than half the people responded with Obama (although McCain had about 45% positive). The question was: "Which candidate will bring the needed change to Washington?". This of course assumes that Obama's champaign that change is necessary is taken for granted - there was no option to "Continue the way things are".

Well, Tim, bear in mind that 81% of the country has already been polled and say we need a change, that we're going in the wrong direction, etc.

So, why re-ask that question when those results are in?

May I mention the time-worn std Republican tactic when things go horribly bad: Blame the media? I'd say "nice try" but we both know it wasn't.

l. For not providing proper care for veterans.

u. For ignoring Israel-Palestine issues, which are major in the area, until it was too late.

v. For alienating our allies.

Yrs ago, I was helping a friend remove the good parts from his hot-rod Volvo 122S.

We were working at a body shop in Passaic, as my friend was given the use of the lift.

A Spanish guy pulled in with one of those long Chevys. He asked the body shop owner for a repainting estimate.

We all walk out to take a look.

Turns out the guy had tried to paint his car with house paint and a roller...with expectedly poor results.

The body shop owner takes a look, tells the guy he wont' touch his car.

But, he offers the car owner some good advice:

We did invade Iraq but did not occupy or intend to occupy it in the 1st Gulf war.
