The official photography thread!

Seeing how there is quite a few here into photography, I figured I would start a thread to be a place to share your photos for fun, critique, etc. or discuss technique, etc.

Rules:
1) Subject manner can be anything, cars, landscapes, portraits, still life, etc. Please keep it clean(ish)

2) Maximum picture size 650 pixel long dimension
It sucks when people post huge photos!

3) When quoting another post, please remove the links to the other persons photos (unless you need to show the photo to illustrate your point). This way we don't have to download the same photos over and over....

4) Limit to ten photos per post

5) Feel free to include camera and exposure info (optional)

6) new rules may be added as needed

Have at it!

The top is my current desktop on my workstation at the office - my laptop has one of Paul Cliff's brilliant Lotus shots.

I'd just picked up a new camera - what better thing to do than mount up my favorite broken lens and walk out into the garage to try and figure out how the camera works. One of these days, I'll figure out how to use the thing...

Now you guys have lit a fire under one of my current projects. I've been (slowly) cleaning and restoring a couple of old Speed Graphics. I have a pile of Velvia 4x5 sheet film all loaded up in holders all ready to go just as soon as I finish reassembly. Gotta get a move on.

I love it. You start the thread, state the rules, and then post truly awesome pictures. Now how can any normal folks post pictures now? :-D

Hi, I'm bad with photos. But I was amazed at some of the pics that Lucas Scarfone put together. Here's a 'still life' of his from a recent drive in NorCal. (That's my Elise in the ferrari sandwich.) Here's where he hosts his pics: http://www.exoticcarsite.com/gallery...me=Titanboy_24

still learning to use my D70

These were taken a few weeks ago in DC at sunrise.

Edit: Sadly I did not have a tripod with me and was handholding the camera. I now see the horizon is tilted. The Jefferson Memorial is about to slide into the basen!

Learning to use my D70 (cont)

On the MINI boards I get slammed for posting to many Lotus shots. I thought I better post an Elise shot here. I shot this on 9.19.04. Stan's car was parked next to Jer's. The Elise was new to the USA and young and old lined up to take a look.

I some how did not post the picture in the earlier post. (opps)

Mopho,

Quick questions:

1. Do you know of any good books on how to take photos of cars?

2. What was your impression of the Moslar MT900?

Thanks

Mopho, how did you achieve the motion blur in your first two shots? Was it optical or photoshop? I've always like that effect and want to practice it once I upgrade to a DSLR someday.
