Really? well thanks!!!
Whenever I google my name I just get links to websites telling lies about a controversial 10 year old court case (that made national news) I was star witness in

Nice digital instruments. Two remind me of a Multifunction Display (MFD) used in P-3C Orion aircraft. They use to have analog instruments but there was an Electronic Flight Display System (EFDS) upgrade and now they are very expensive little boxes with hig res LCDs and new/better interfaces to the avionics. We had to upgrade our P-3C simulators and I ended up making simulated MFD in software (runs under Windows NT, 2000, or XP). It looks just like the MFD, even supporting the split screen mode where one MFD shows one instrument in the top half and the other in the bottom half (in case one of the two MFDs fail). My simulated MFD in HSI mode:

It wasn't quite finished at that time, but close. This was just dummy data feeding the ActiveX control during testing.

Just a bunch of random photos I have taken over the years. I always use photoshop quick fix to fix lighting because I use a Canon Digital Elph which doesn't always account for lighting perfectly. Regardless I'm not even qualified to be called an amateur. I took all of these with the exception of the picture of the Blackhawk over Kuwait, which my brother took. And Obviously I didn't take the pic with me on the rock.

Fort Monmouth landing

My brother David's 350Z at City Hall

Mount Olympus, Utah

On the firing line at Ft. Knox during sun set

Thats the safety line, they string it across the front of the tank turret and hang little stop signs so that no one walks to the front area of the tank. The blast as the round comes out of the muzzle can be very detrimental to your hearing. Not to mention it feels like your head is gonna pop when you are 20 feet behind the tank, i can't imagine it would feel very good standing in front of one.

I love the shot of the sunrise and the ant. I always wanted to get into macro photography, but am afraid I would start chasing bugs around.

The third shot didn't do much for me and even the forth one...no pop. The last shot is nice with the misty effect and slow shutter speed. The bald eagle in the next post and the picture of a comet was nice as well.

thanks, eko

the ant was shot with a nikkor 70-180micro lens with 2 close up diopters (5T and 6T) screwed into the front. it was lit with the nifty new nikon closeup light kit that uses a flash commander unit attached to the camera hot shoe and 2 small flash heads mounted to the front of the diopters. I wish there'd been a little more diffusion on the flash heads. if you look you can see the shadows from both flash heads coming off the ant's legs and some shadowing from the flower as well. the other nifty thing about that shot is that unlike normal close up flower work where you have to sit around for eons waiting for absolute still air, the flash outfit allowed me to shoot at 1/250 of a second. there was considerable motion of the flower but the shutter speed did a good job of freezing it. macro is fun but pretty tedious stuff. I was not shooting ants but rather the flower when this beast came crawling along and changed the intent of the image.

LotusLust,

Great pics! What comet is that and how did you shoot it? I also like the ant. The flower pic is great but the ant makes it unique. You can sure tell the first one is the Smokies (lovely), and the last one in that set is gorgeous!
