We need much more of this on our city streets.

Good Formula One stuff.

Sounds hot. I like muscular butts and thighs on a woman. Ice skaters are usually good for that, like Ms. Kerrigan here. Not a great pic, but hey.

You want something nice and tiny to blast about town in then get yourself an old Triumph Spitfire or the like. Maybe even an Austin Mini-Cooper original?

Something with 4 wheels and a lid. MG Midget or Bug-eyed Sprite. Cheap and easy to repair and inexpensive to buy.

Problem is, some of the hills in SF are nearly impossible to ride up...most people don't realize just how steep parts of San Francisco are. The less steep areas are heavy traffic spots which also compounds the problem.

if you want two wheels get a real bike - something like a

2009 CRF230M - Honda Powersports

Suzuki Cycles - Product Lines - Cycles - Products - DR-Z400 - 2009 - DRZ400SM

the supermoto / motards are great inner city bikes - soak up the bad pavement, can take a beating and abuse. you don't want anything too powerfull - its hard to learn how to ride on an overpowerd bike... something light and agile.

the only thing "protecting" you on two wheels is agilty, stopping power and aceleration.

scooters have none of that so your a sitting duck.

on a real bike, you can at least have a chance to "get" yourself out of a bad situation.

off course if you want to leap frog into ultra street creed coolness...

Ducati.com

...is the only way to go!

Certainly the are practical in Europe with special lanes and special parking. There are some rocking scooter clubs in the USA. It may work for you.

I fell in love/lust in Madrid when a beautiful woman on a Vespa with a pudding head helmet stopped at a light next to me. Dammed digital camera took too long to boot up.

I want a classic Vespa for occasional commuting and joy rides but I can't find one at a condition and price I like.

I've been there and I saw plenty of cyclists.

I bought my wife a shiny red Vespa LX 150 for Christmas. It now has 100 miles on it.

I'll bet that she would be glad to sell it at an attractive price.

Thanks,
Joe
