Wasn't counted for anything, but I decided to take 'em.
Wore my Lotus Polo for good luck.

And first question on the Verbal: (Fill in the Blank with the correct word)

"The Dancer was focused more on a great style than exact performance, as he thought it would be better to have good _____ than _____"

Choice A? Elan, Technique.

Pretty sure it's a good test right about now.

I have asian parents too

, but i told my parents that the psat's were pointless so i was going to sleep (or something like that

I still go take them (and I did, way back when - it is a practice test, and it gives you an idea of what the "real" test is when you take it. It can't hurt, and it might help, and in the long term, you won't really miss that few extra hours of sleep...

Excellent PSAT scores can get you $1k scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship. I and 5 other folks got it for the Northern VA area when I took it Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

Serpent - Yeah, but I have INDIAN parents. They're mad strict about this kinda stuff.
To be honest I didn't give them the form at first but somehow they found out (From my other Indian friends mom, they're comparing notes

) so she made me give her the form, then she called the school the day before the PSAT to make sure I handed in the form. So odd. But I BSd it anyway.

Crusader - The Merit Scholarship is open to Juniors only, I'm a sophomore. Sucks doesnt it?

Nobody calls me Mr. - my name is Tim - but thanks for the respect. Even when I taught college classes, when people tried to call me "professor" or "Mr.", I requested to be called "Tim".

For what it's worth, back when I took the SAT, I scored high enough on the English part that the University that I went to (Cal Poly - Pomona) exempted me from taking Freshman English - that was a regular "flunk out" course (a paper each week, and more reading than you could handle). Doing good on the PSAT probably helped me do good on the SAT, and being able to skip English 101 was worth more than a $1,000 scholarship...

Just keep up the good work, and you'll go far in this world.

Tim, no doubt the PSATs help but its boring and when your a sophomore you couldnt care less.

I took the AP Lit and AP lang test and got 5s on both so i also skipped the freshman english classes. Which helped a hell of a lot.

Nowadays the SAT is just another way colleges measure you to see if they can accept you.

But I hope I'll get 5's on my AP Tests, I'm nearly failing AP US 1, so I gotta bring that up a lot....

And I think a 2250 or above is acceptable for my SATs.

According to everyone i know i'm black. Also, i dont know what "desi" means

High School is easy. just take a bunch of honors/AP classes and do well. Pass the AP tests with 4 or 5s so you can get into a good college with college credit. Also play sports and have fun...thats what high school is for.
