I've heard of the lighter fluid trick before, just never seen it in action like that.
You'll appreciate this then:

Anybody see the base Elise front wheel, front clam and steering wheel hanging on the wall behind Clarkson as decor?

I thought the wheel looked familiar, but missed the other Elise parts. I think I'll have to rewatch it now.

Wait a tick, you need a reason to rewatch?

There was some of that in the last episode, too. I think the answer is that he's not gay, he's just British.

May I suggest Jeremy Clarksons new DVD Supercar Showdown. Its available on finalgear.com and you can find the torrent on MININOVA.com as well. Its just like a top gear episode, except its all about driving the cars, and they are all supercars. Its def worth the DL. L8r.

Is it the old episode of him driving the Lambo, or is this a new episode?

They are last season episodes, but this is the LP640 version of the lambo, I know he did the "regular" murcielago a couple of seasons ago.

On the topic of Lamborghini, I had the chance to test drive a Gallardo coupe this weekend.
Granted, it was in San Francisco, so there were limited opportunities to get on it. But I know I hate the carbon ceramic brakes ($15K option) - they were impossible to modulate.
I also didn't like the e-gear. I wish I had the chance to drive a manual. I think the gallardo is billed as an everyday supercar, but between the jerky e-gear and the lack of modulation on the brakes, I wouldn't want to be driving this daily. It also seems very heavy - I think it uses a recirculating ball steering, so not much feedback from the road.

But on the rare occaision when you can get on it - everything else is forgotten, everything else is forgiven - this is an italian supercar... fantastic torque, great response as you make the leap into hyperspace.

A 6 speed, and steel brakes would make it better, but anything exceptional seems to need a few character flaws.

Cheers,
-Darryl
