+1000!

Although, you won't find these episodes on DirectTV until next year. Only way to view them is from finalgear.com (most convenient method to acquire them). You will need a torrent client like uTorrent.

the photo was taken only 10 hours ago, so I'm pretty certain that segment hasn't aired yet.

Apparently the crew is staying at a local hotel and saw her working there.
they shot it down by the beach this morning, and had the girls playing volleyball, in bikini's - and it was rather chilly out.

I was somewhat surprised to see the Stig post a faster lap time in the Fiat 500 Abarth than in the Elise. (135.5 vs 135.6 sec). Actually, I was surprised they were that close at all.

A Fiat friend of mine is annoyingly happy about that.

yea, i saw this the second time i was watching and was very surprised. Could this be because that laptime is from the old elise?? i remember the new lap times for the elise to be higher.

Yes-the Elise time was a Rover-powered model (130bhp, IIRC). The na Exige was the first Toyota-powered model they tested on the Top Gear track. Both were in the wet, too.

No shame in anything getting beaten by an Abarth Fiat Punto, BTW. Those things are cool!

News outtakes 1 - BBC Top Gear
They were talking about a new version of the Europa, that had the interior lined with diamonds. the new slogan is "simplify and add diamonds"

The Elise time was set on a very wet track.
Take a look at this.

Edited to add: This has been removed from youtube for a terms of use violation.

I'm new to all this torrent stuff. I'm using Transmission for Mac and the download of an episode says it's going to take 2 hours. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

A lot of things determine your download speed. One of the main things is the upload speed of your connection and the setting within the torrent client you are using. For example, if you restrict the upload speed (because you still want to be able to use your connection while the download is occuring) the download speed will also be restricted.

Torrents work by uploading (or making available for upload) the data that you download even before you are finished downloading the entire file. Therefore, another reason for a slow download would be limited uploaders available. Newer files will oftentimes be faster to download, because many people are "sharing" them over the wire.

Hope this helps.

Two hours is not uncommon. That is also an educated guess, as it depends on how many people are sharing the file at that moment. Midway through the download, more people could join in and the download will speed up considerably. This also works in reverse.

Thanks, it makes more sense now. I'll try playing with the speed settings.

it is better to get the torrent as soon as they have it up, meaning more people will be on downloading and sharing the file.

It took me about 25 minutes to get top gear episode 3 (on sunday night).

Did anyone else feel vindicated by the Veyron being slower than the Koenigsegg, the Zonda, the Ascari, and the Gumpert? Makes the point that all the technology in the world can't overcome the difference that weight makes.

Yes, but only because I expected as much.

I knew it wouldn't be at the top. I forget where i heard it, but i remember hearing about a guy who took his to the track, and said it really wasn't amazing on the track. The difference in weight is a huge factor though, just think about the other cars that can come close to the same speed with half the cylinders.
