What color do I paint my Ferrari?

I'd like your input on color choice for my 1961 Ferrari (see my profile picture).
I'm going to repaint it and I'm sick of the silver. Original color was dark blue. My interior is saddle which is kind of orange. I was thinking of going back to the original paint,or dark gray or black. I'm not too crazy about heavy metallic paints. My car is not a trailer queen. I drive my cars. So don't tell me about that Ferrari Club originality BS.
My plate will also rule out red. BTW I just drove it Sunday for the first time since we overhauled the V12 - a job we started 2 years ago.

I have NEVER owned a red ferrari...and I'm a huge blue car person

My 355 spider was done in Blue Chiaro - I think only 20 355 spiders were in that rare blue...probably one of the prettiest blue I have ever seen

or

the second closest color to Blue Chiaro is the new Blue Mirabu color which I ordered by F430 in. See my profile picture

How about Red? Just kidding

Whatever you choose, make sure that it blends in with the interior so if your interior is an orangish color, to me a very dark blue or a black will do just fine.

Congrats! I'm a big fan of it in its current silver color.

Dark blue (metallic?) with the saddle interior sounds real purty.

I'm thinking a nice, deep, non-metallic blue - something on the order of Lotus's nightfall blue, but perhaps without the metallic. I have a hard time seeing a dark gray working well on her, especially if you're looking to add some color without sampling a crayon box.

Here's some pics:

I am about to finish a 5 yr restoration on a 356 Porsche so I would be the last to tell you orginality. However a car like your's is exceptional and I.m afraid you must unless you hate the color go orginal. I.ve had a number of Ferrari's in the past. The first must be red after that it's your call. I did the Porsche in silver, cause that's Porche's racing color and one of my favorite color's , Im hearing it from everyone including the painter should have done it in that olive drap color popular in the 60's with porche and it's orginal color

I'm not gonna sugar coat my answer, the car looks awesome, and it begs to be red.

Please tell us you'll post a sound clip? Whenever I see a 60s Ferrari V12 on the streets, I turn off my radio, roll down the windows, and follow it just to hear the engine note.

I'm voting for dark blue or black. Do you have a picture of the interior?

I like DARK red for older Ferraris, but failing that, Ferrari does offer a beautiful shade of blue:

+1!

And I vote for a dark non-metallic blue

An original?

As in an original one of the 55 made....the now worth $2.5M version? Um, that's a score! I also like the silver.

Black.

It's a timeless color, and looks especially rich on older cars, because it complements the depth of chrome beautifully.

The Ferrari 250 kind of reminds me of my '58 Corvette.

I really like that slate grey. There are some good interior pics of my car at Tom Yangs Ferrari Restoration website. Its a great site detailing the restoration of his barnfind Ferrari. Go to Ferrari Owners Gallery then scroll to Campbell Bryson Family Ferraris.
