Something about the way you introduced this pic on the other thread (now I can't find it there) made me think it was also telescope related. So I'm going to say one of the support structures in that giant radio telescope in South America.

I was thinking the same first, but didn't find any similar. One of the world's largest steerable radio telescopes is the 100m r.t. in Effelsberg (only 50 miles away from my place), but even this one has no "bridge".

... but don't waste time doing a Google image search with keywords "elevated structure japan"... I tried that yesterday.
