Today was only my third time and I've slowly figured this out. Started today with new (less than 200 miles) tires. I started at 24 front, 27 rear and after two runs they warmed up enough to let out a few pounds, but mainly only from front. I also chalked my tires, so I was checking the roll-over after each pass. For reference, it was a little cool outside, probably 70 degrees or so at the start, and warmed to 75 after several runs.
Oh, and make SURE you are using a good pressure gauge. I found that my cheap old gauge was reading at least 4-5 pounds high, which would explain a lot squirrly sliding when I was out last time.
