5.5" front wheel - what size Toyo T1R?
I should preface this by saying that a new set of wheels arrives today. Since I drive my Elise to work on a regular basis (80 miles round trip), I've decided to put T1Rs on the stock wheels and most likely R1Rs on the new wheels and use them for weekend joy-rides, autocross, etc. My primary motivation is to try to get 20k miles out of the rears....as I'm lucky to get 10 on the AD07s, and the T1R seems like the best bang for the buck.
That being said, which size would work best for the front? 185/50R16 81V 195/45R16 80V 195/50R16 84V 195/55R16 91V RD My initial thought was that the 185/50 would be as close to stock as the original, but with the less grippy compound, would I be better off going with the 195 to get a bit more rubber touching the road? And if I do go with the 195, while the 55 height is stock, would I run into any rubbing as a result of the increased width? Would I be better going with the 45 or 50? Thanks for your thoughts. |

The 195/50R16 is the optional size and will give you the best size stagger front to rear.
