What were the actual temps? Which track?

[quote=008]Have you taken temperatures? Lotus did this as a cost saving measure, for those of us who track our cars extensively, we were screwed. At my last event running race compound endurance pads on an 80 degree day I had over 100 degree variance on the front right from the front left. When I wear these out I will be putting on correctly vented slotted rotors.

Thanks.

In the 5-700 range after a medium sized pit road. Homestead Roval.

At the pad right off the track. Rotors were substantially less.

>>>At the pad right off the track. Rotors were substantially less.<<<

These are nice, low temperatures....no need to worry about left versus right in this instance. Braking action will be equal if the pads you are using are in the linear part of their operating range (brake torque versus temp for a given line pressure and rotor speed), which they should be in those ranges. I wouldn't sweat it much!

Good to hear Thanks! The real test will come in July/August running Sebring 50 minute stints. Hope they stay low.

I assume that was after a cool-down lap?

How long is Homestead Roval? Have you developed any heat-stressed hairline cracks on the rotors? Thanks.

Homestead's road course is 2.2 miles. Here's a map: http://www.racingdentist.com/images/...rack%20map.jpg

No cracks, but I do have some grooving from the stock pads. I have about 1200 track miles on them and since I switched to a race pad they seem to be holding up ok so far, but it hasn't been really hot yet.
